Our first war, which I was helping a fellw marauder guild, was also defense and we got our asses handed to us. Supposedly this was vs a guild of try hard mo-fos all lv 40+ that played all the fucking betas together, vs a rag tag level 20 somethings with barely no coordination other than DEFEND THE POINTS!!!. I think we lasted all of like 15 min before they took our base, lol. This happened on thursday last week. FYI our map is dominated by purples so far.
THey came in with their hammer squads to take points while raining down fire and repeater fire. All the while our repeaters were being sniped.

Still enjoying this mostly, but man it feels pretty incomplete in the late 30's onward - particularly the leveling and questing experience. Like there wasn't enough testing done on story quest xp etc. Just feels extremely grindy and I can't imagine the majority of the 700k players in the game will make it past level 40. Could be wrong here, and maybe that's what people are looking for but for me its becoming decidedly less fun the higher I go. Again, feels like it's just flat out incomplete in some ways and maybe they'll continue working to smooth at the experience.

All mmos that don't give boosted characters during beta are going to have that problem. Feels like as soon as you hit the 25+ zones the lore pages drop off and things are just less polished. It makes sense, since way fewer people are going to level 30/40/50+ in a beta vs the mass of idiots swarming the 1-20 zones.

I think that is more of a description on where Asmon is in relation to what is out there, rather than how New World actually is. He is dissatisfied with WoW, doesn't want to commit to FFXIV to finish content before Endwalker, AoC is a looooooong way off, so NW isn't exactly what he wanted and he thinks its worse than it actually is.

So there is a thread on the NW forums about a seeming Influence exploit that allows a small group of people to nearly instantly place a zone in Conflict by doing the pvp missions, regardless of how much the owner Faction tries to counter. We've seen this happen on Vingolf.
A Dev responded saying this was by design since they want to have Wars happen a lot, which I can agree with. Yet, this mechanic scales infinitely. A guild without a territory will begin to accrue a bonus for pvp quest influence, and there is no cap to that bonus, so it could only take 1 person turning in a set of those pvp missions to flip a zone into Conflict. Then some other guild could declare War.

Asmon is crippled by IRL issues and it's sad to watch. He clearly has anxiety issues, has been sheltered, has supported his family financially all the while justifying his frugal life style like it's ok. Bruh it's ok to invest $$$ into yourself especially if it'll assist in making you more money, like perhaps your own living situation, or maybe different streaming decor, or perhaps a fucking hair cut, and some hair growth formula.

Since everyone is always on a different page with quests, its annoying to ask people to come help with a fast respawn area. So I tried a weapon coating and... theyre glorious. Even the weak one is 20% damage for 5 minutes. It's only been up till now that Ive hit literal road blocks with fast respawn areas, but with the weapon coating - I blew through the area in seconds. Just saying, I wouldnt sleep on these things if you're high level.

All MMOs suffer from this. Shit even the king itself WOW was unfinished and lacking quests and shit in certain areas which were filled in later.

Ya, players are already calling for a Developer Road Map. They want to know whats next, regardless if they are there yet. But honestly, there is a ton of content left for me to do and Ive been sweaty af on this game. A casual has months and months of shit to do if they just enjoy the premise of the game. Though, I do agree that once players start hitting that "gotta do everything to level" stage, that feeling might wane. For $40 bucks though? This shit has been tits.

Im going medium pace and haven't got bored yet. I'm having more fun racing people to gathering nodes then anything. It's like suck my dick asshole I beat you to the gold node. I do feel stuck in the middle of everyone though because everyone races to the top or people are still at the bottom so not many people to group with.
