Why is time of the essence? Next game isn't until Thursday. Are there weird deadlines in your league?

You should be using the advice thread, but I wouldn't touch AP with a ten foot pole after what Rice went through and the league's subsequent image crisis. Vikings just lost Radisson hotels' sponsorship over this, there could be worse coming. Ball is a solid back, I say fuck that guy he's trying to dump AP before anything worse happens.

Edit: replied to your post in the advice thread too.

Beingthe official beer of the NFLcosts a lot of money, I'd imagine. Probably enough to get the owners' attention! Peterson, Hardy, and McDonald might be sacrificed on the altar before the week is out.

Anheuser-Busch is about as big as it gets for NFL advertising I'd imagine. They aren't just casually putting out a statement for the hell of it. Its clearly intended as a warning. Clean up your image (or more realistically, just give the public impression that you're tough on offenders) or else. AP's gonna get fucked in the ass over all this, you can see it coming. Wheaties took him off their website too apparently.

Man if only America was this harsh on its politicians, we might not live in such a fucked up country, politically.
Pretty sure any politician caught on tape/shown photographic evidence of knocking out their wife or beating the shit out of two four year old kids would be just as ruined if not more.

What sucks is now that corporate sponsors are speaking up, players are gonna get fucking blasted by the league when they do anything wrong now. No turning back now.

Football is gonna become a lot more volatile going forward, with big name players regularly getting suspended for big chunks of the season. Not looking forward to it whatsoever.

Yet the shit they get away with is far worse, not trying to turn this political so I'll just leave it at that.

That must especially suck for a 49ers fan. Gonna be putting in guys from the street by season's end.

Win-win for the league, though. Players will never get any sympathy from fans if they're dumb enough to cry about arrests getting them in trouble at their jobs. Probably going to have lots of law abiding players worried about seeing sponsor dollars at risk because of these guys too. Salary cap isn't getting any bigger by running Budweiser off.

Loss for fans though. I don't want to see a player get a 4 game suspension for a DUI or some shit. Frankly, I don't care what these guys do in their spare time. I do agree with heinous shit like what Ray Rice getting punished by the league, but for the most part I'd rather have the court system handle it. That's just not realistic now though unfortunately. It's all about the money and how much they stand to lose from corporate sponsors.

They should get blasted. If my job had video or pictorial evidence that I punched my wife out or beat my kids to the point where they will have scarring, I sure as hell wouldn't still have a job. Especially if I was a "face" of the organization. Just because we enjoy seeing big dumb hyper violent brutes beating each other up on the football field doesn't mean they should get a pass if they make the poor decision to take that physicality off the field in an inappropriate or illegal manner.

edit:

Drug related offenses should go away completely fairly soon as long as the nation as a whole keeps drifting towards legalization. Which is good in my book. Until then however their should still be penalties involved for players caught repeatedly violating whatever drug policy the league has in place.
