Not that this is a big deal, but I disagree. AP was placed on the exempt comissioner's list meaning the suspension was doled out from the NFL. if the NFL imposed the punishment, it's likely unrelated to Radison and its sponsorship of the vikings.

Are you sure, everything I've seen says it was the Vikings that placed him on that list and it's a statement from the Vikings, not from the NFL.

According to a Peter King article just released in the past hour or two:

'According to NFL bylaws, "The Exempt List is a special player status available to clubs only in unusual circumstances. Only the Commissioner has the authority to place a player on the Exempt List; clubs have no such authority, and no exemption, regardless of circumstances, is automatic. The Commissioner also has the authority to determine in advance whether a player's time on the Exempt List will be finite or will continue until the Commissioner deems the exemption should be lifted and the player returned to the Active List."'

So that does seem to directly contradict the Vikings statement. It sounds to me like two different things: player deactivation from the Vikings, and the Commissioner Exempt List (which totally sounds made the fuck up on the spot to me, though it seems it has always been there) from the NFL.

So I was just looking at the schedule for Sunday. Why the hell is the Sunday night game not Denver @ Seattle? Instead we have to pretend to care about Pittsburgh @ Carolina? Lame

This is an excerpt from the Vikings statement that should clarify what happened:

"This has been an ongoing and deliberate process since last Friday's news. In conversations with the NFL over the last two days, the Vikings advised the League of the team's decision to revisit the situation regarding Adrian Peterson. In response, the League informed the team of the option to place Adrian on the Exempt/Commissioner's Permission list, which will require that Adrian remain away from all team activities while allowing him to take care of his personal situation until the legal proceedings are resolved. After giving the situation additional thought, we have decided this is the appropriate course of action for the organization and for Adrian."

Wow, somehow I missed that entire first paragraph of the statement. That just does not seem like it is the same as what I read this morning, but it was early. It does indeed clarify what happened.

They really butchered the spelling of "requirement." Option isn't even close.

Really getting turned off by this shit. I follow it like a banshee because it's NFL related but my enjoyment of the game is starting to feel like watching Oprah or some shit

That's how I feel. I love watching the games, but between all this shit and the massive spike in ticky tacky game changing flags being thrown, I'm really starting to sour on the entire product. I avoid watching just about any news and non-sports TV cause I just can't stand this stuff.

This whole AP thing smells of everyone trying to cover their ass together, and not an actual punishment like the Ray Rice case. The acceptance of the deactivation by Peterson, the statements from the agent, and the district attorney today hinted that a plea deal is probably on the table when Peterson's attorney gets back into the country.

Agent:
"this is the best possible outcome given the circumstances." "Adrian understands the gravity of the situation, and this enables him to take care of his personal situation," Dogra said. "We fully support Adrian, and he looks forward to watching his teammates and coaches being successful during his absence."

NFLPA:
"Adrian Peterson made a decision to take a voluntary leave with pay to take care of his personal and legal issues," ""The NFLPA and NFL worked with Adrian and the Minnesota Vikings to resolve this unique situation. We support this decision and hope the best for him and his family."

District Attorney also said he expects plea deals to be discussed when Adrian Peterson's Attorney returns to the US.

If Peterson does take a plea deal, it sounds like he may be back as soon as week 7. If he takes this to trial, he is probably done with the Vikings. This whole situation seems really odd to me, I have a feeling everyone involved knows a resolution is coming sooner rather than later. October 8th is his first court appearance.

Pretty sure I said the same thing during the preseason and was told I should go watch soccer.
I was the one who told you to go watch Soccer, and I still feel the same way. If you're retarded enough to burn yourself out on watching countless news reports of this shit then you're a moron. Not you specifically, just anyone who has burned themselves out.

Says who?
Pretty sure the NFL even agreed with the Ravens on what Rice said about being pretty straight forward with what happened. CNN and ESPN both posted articles about it, NFL even might have. All 3 outlets definitely posted the AP report about the police sending the video to the NFL back in June or whatever, though.

So this happened 5 years ago, and he was already suspended for it? Guess the lawyer saw the opportunity to doggy pile on and get free publicity.

That organization is donating money for every sack, the bengals only have 5. I cannot believe the other teams in this league are so inconsiderate when the Bengals are actually trying to do something good for once. Fucking fire Roger Goodell this is absolutely the worst I literally can't even right now.
