This is weak dude. Romo didn't suddenly turn into an elite quarterback his 9th year in the league. He DOES have a much better team around him and he's still not playing at Rodgers' level.I think what frustrates me about it is this line:
RankTeamTotal YardsYards Per GamePassingPass Per GameRushingRush Per GameTotal PointsPoints Per Game

Many in the media shrug off Romo's season as a byproduct of the people around him and their offensive approach. At the same time they're pretending Rodgers is doingeverythinghimself. Last I checked having a good run game (and nearly 120 ypg certainly qualifies) is just as important to offensive success as his abilities as a QB. That's not to detract from what Rodgers has done, but you can't realistically speak about Romo in one way and Rodgers in a completely different way when they had extremely similar seasons with the primary difference being the amount of yards they threw for and the TD:Int ratio.
You are right he did not suddenly become elite in his 9th year, he has been elite for quite some time and has put up numbers similar to what he did this year in the past at least two different times the only difference is the records and that is where the people surrounding him come into play. This is weak dude. Fail. He has not been elite till this year. You are right he did not suddenly become elite in his 9th year, he has been elite for quite some time and has put up numbers similar to what he did this year in the past at least two different times the only difference is the records and that is where the people surrounding him come into play.
Not getting any stats for you, get some other monkey to dance for you, you already know the stats back up what I said.Fail. He has not been elite till this year.
EDIT go go grab those stats
Gods pretending to be men.If Romo is elite, what are Brady and Manning?
There was another article over at Yahoo I think that talked about the impact those terrible divisions had on the playoffs. AFC North played both those divisions and contributed heavily toward three of the 6 participants in the AFC coming from that division. NFC East benefited from the AFC South and NFC North also benefited against the NFC South. While teams can only play what's on their schedule and I don't think anyone saw how bad the NFC South was going to be at the start of the year (especially New Orleans, yeesh), it's interesting to think of how it impacted the rest of the league. The 2014 NFC South isn't the worst division in NFL history
Interesting article. This season hosted 2 of the 20 worst divisions in professional sports history (#2 NFC South, #16 AFC South).
Romo has always had good stats and anyone who denies this won't be swayed by the facts. You can say he's not elite because he hasn't produced in the playoffs, but he has the capabilities to lead a team to the promised land. All he really needed was, you know, that team.1-3 in the playoffs in 8 years. I don't think you will find a stat like that on many "elite" resumes.
What's that make Rodgers? Zeus?Gods pretending to be men.
Total bullshit. There is no way Suh didnt know he cleated Rodgers, if you've ever stepped on someone accidentally, its pretty obvious. And if it wasn't intentional, he would have at least turned back to look at him on the ground. Suh cleats him twice, and just strolls off, pretending like he didnt even feel it.Further explanation of Suh ruling
"Although I accept that your feet may have been cold on a late December day in Green Bay, it is difficult for me to believe that you did not feel Aaron Rodgers' leg under you as you stepped on him twice," Cottrell wrote. "While you may not have consciously intended to cause injury to the opposing player that you stepped on, I nonetheless believe that you could have avoided-and had the responsibility to avoid-making such dangerous contact with your opponent's leg-twice. Your conduct was a clear violation of the Playing Rules and was outside the normal course of the game of football. It must be emphasized that illegal acts that jeopardize the safety of other players, as was certainly the case here, will not be tolerated in this League."
So why did Cottrell overturn the suspension? Because he was swayed not only by speaking directly to Suh but by hearing from Suh's representatives and from the Lions, who felt that the entire franchise would be punished if one of its best players was barred from a playoff game.
"Several of your representatives, including personnel from the Lions, argued that the impact of your suspension would have a devastating effect on you, your teammates and coaches, as well as Lions fans," Cottrell wrote.
