Apparently Phil Simms doesn't think another has been athlete can do his job and commentate. He's gone on record now saying he refuses to say the word redskins on air.

Kind of what I was thinking, if their name is officially the Washington Redskins then if he doesn't want to call them that the NFL could put pressure on the network to tell them to keep his political belief to himself.

Well I'm thinking just because the name is the Redskins doesn't mean the NFL all has to agree upon it. I'm sure no owner will come out and condem the name but I'm also not sure if Goodell will jump to the defense of the name. I haven't heard a thing from the higher ups what their position is on the controversy.

The article I read on this said that the NFL is looking for 'acts' that will pay for their halftime exposure. They value the 12 minute spot at $100 million dollars.

I can't believe Hoyer being named Browns starter is actually news worthy. Since when did the expectation become rookie QBs come in and start? I don't even know if Bortles will start for Jax ... will that make headline news as well?

I'm not even a bruno mars fan, but I have to admit he killed it last year. He was easily the biggest winner of last year's superbowl and probably why the nfl now wants to charge performers because he sold a ton of albums after the superbowl.
