NFL analysts are just blowhards like half the people on this board. They might have more football related facts memorized than the rest of us, but they have no fucking clue what is going to happen.

Cutler could be All-Pro this year, the more I think about it the more I'm happy I don't have Sunday Ticket to force me to watch the atrocity that will be the Bears defense. Until the old hag kicks the bucket and the Bears are finally owned by someone that cares I just don't see anything ever changing.

Yeah Im sure Virginia McCaskey is just like Jerry Jones, with her own draft board every off-season

Michael Irvin actually picked Cutler as his MVP.

To with Faulk immediately responded - "bra... how you gonna pick the SECOND BEST quarterback in the DIVISION as MVP?"

Multiple picks for Lesean McCoy as MVP.

Also people are going fucking loco over this packers team... im positive they'll win 11 or 12 games, but why suddenly are they clear SB contenders?

It's because everyone is on Lacy's nuts. A solid RB is something GB hasn't had in a while. Their big issue is still finding somebody to play defense.

I have GB winning tonight. But then again my bold predication for the season is the Seahawks miss the playoffs.

They did pickup Peppers
Peppers is pretty terrible at this point, this isn't going to turn it around for them.

Im more curious about their receiver corps since the only receivers left of note are Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson. Cobb has never even gotten 1000 yards in a season with Rodgers throwing to him which basically only leaves Nelson and 3 other no-name guys, 2 of them rookies. I think this is the worst set of receivers that Rodgers ever played with. I picked Seahawks over Packers, this is a no brainer especially since they are at CenturyLink

From an outsiders perspective, I think Boykin could be pretty good. Nelson and Cobb are pretty damn good. Their TE situation seems a little muddled though.

Pretty excited about this 4th rounder out of South Carolina, Bruce Ellington. He's already listed ahead of Lamichael James on KR/PR and has a ton of potential as a receiver for the future.

Eh, he looks like Ted Ginn Jr. that gave up some of his speed and elusiveness to actually be able to catch the ball. Perfectly mediocre.

Until I see the packers do something this season, I see no reason to pick them.

They have a definite QB advantage, but it's not like Wilson's a slouch.

The hawks D averaged like 14.3 pts/g last season. I'm sure Rodgers will move the ball & score slightly above that average.

Seahawks 30
Pack 17

We'll see how the Seahawks defense does this season with the tightened rules. Anyone that watched the games saw flagrant defensive holds almost every down by the team.

I think their backup Center, who Rodgers has never taken a snap from in a game, is going to get tore up. I'll go Seahawks 30, Packers 24 though. Rodg' gonna Rodg', and I think Lacy will have a big day.

Nothing derails a good actual football discussion like a Ray Lewis Statue unveiling.

So you have Jerry Jones (Al Davis East? What's our nickname here...) dying within the next few months, the Cowboys dumping all their existing contracts (Raiders East? This is getting spooky...) and yet somehow finding enough 7th round / undrafted free agents to compete with the NFL equivalent of couch cushion change you'll have left for your salary cap to start a new golden age.

To be blunt, I find that unlikely.
Jerry hasn't been "running" the team for at least 3-4 years now, it's pretty obvious - it looks to mostly be Stephen Jones, Jason Garrett, and Will McClay at this point. Jerry still shows the illusion he's in charge to the media but it's obvious that something has changed.

Look at all the evidence:

1) Pretty good drafts in the last 3-4 years, like actually drafting offensive linemen (although it may be too late for Romo at this point) and the ultimate Jerry pick Manziel gets passed on. Compared to some of Wade/Jerry drafts from 2007-2009 these last few years have been amazing.
2) Letting one year wonders, and players over 30 (with the exception of Romo) walk if they are asking too much. Generally Jerry would give his stars whatever they ask.
3) Getting their young, elite talent locked up to long, team-friendly deals (Tyron Smith, Dan Bailey, and soon Dez) with the cap space from letting the above players walk.
4) Getting rid of all the trouble makers, diva's, etc (this was the first thing Jason Garrett did).
5) Salary cap situation isn't near as bad as headlines make it seem - they always get under the cap without much trouble. They could have kept Ware if they really wanted him, but he wanted more than they thought he was worth at his age. Stephen Jones knows the cap will keep increasing every year, and has negotiated the contracts he has given with that in mind.

Obviously this hasn't shown on the field yet (mostly because the guys Parcell's drafted on defense are gone due to age or injury, and Wade/Jerry drafted so poorly for a 3 year stretch that their defense is completely depleted), but Stephen and Garrett definitely have a plan - will Garrett get to see it realized? At the end of the day Jerry could get fed up and wrest control back from Stephen and blow up all they have been building.
