We have a killer offensive line already...... That's something they fixed when Romo was taken out for a year by the Giants.

Romo had all day to pass last year.
I can see how you would confuse a line that was nothing better than good considering the train wreck that line was the previous year but the line wasn't great and Romo still wasn't able to finish a year behind it. This a step in the right direction, look at the teams that Dallas is facing in the first 6 weeks and tell me you wouldn't have been a bit worried about Romo being around after those 6 games. 49ers, with that D-line, Titans not so much, Rams with Long, Donald and Quinn is going to be pretty damn fierce, Saints not as much as the 49ers or the Rams but better than the Titans and then Clowney and Watt of the Texans followed up by Seattles defense.

The players they wanted on Defense were gone, this was by far BPA and a solid step into building an offensive line that's better than good, maybe even dominant.

That Rams DL is going to be fucking scary

Robert Quinn, Michael Brockers, Chris Long and now Aaron Donald with Langford to come in and rotate and also with Ogletree coming in off the edge. If that defense lands another corner and safety in the earlyround, they could have a very very nasty defense. Having that front 4 would help those kinds of new picks out greatly as well. Not to mention they have an actual DC now with Gregg Williams. The bounty pot gon b overflowin'!

I also saw something with the Steelers saying they might move Shazier inside, which would be a lot more reassuring for me. It would be nice to have a guy with Kendrell Bell type of speed back on the inside.

Uh Romo didn't finish the season because he pulled his back in practice..... The O line last year was absolutely incredible leaving romo not only time to pass, but one of his best seasons in the NFL.

Getting the Saint's O line wouldn't haven't prevented Romo from getting old ...

You know what I'm worried about Romo constantly getting injured( finger jams, back pulls, etc) , and costing us a season because we have no viable backup

I don't even know where you are getting this, Romo was hurt in the Washington game BEFORE he threw the game winning TD according to everyone including the players.

From the article they wrote on his injury... There was no conclusive evidence that trauma was caused by the injury in the game. He started to complain of soreness after his first practice.
Either way old as fuck, bad decision. No back up quaterback for a QB that is constantly getting injured.

The Cowboys insist that this surgery may be related to last spring's "cyst removal'' that was performed on May 22 and kept Romo from practicing with the team until July 22. But in fact, sources say that operation was "spine-involved'' as well (likely a partial discectomy to remove disc pressure on a nerve). And this week, team sources tell me that while Romo's back problem only flared up in practice after the washington game causing him to have to return home on the team plane laying down flat across two seats - he did on a weekly basis undergo Monday treatments for his back, as at least a preventative measure.
Whatever the details, Romo has at age 33 undergone two back operations in the span of eight months. Given the Cowboys' investment in the quarterback, the hope is that he returns with no major negative ramifications from the procedures.-

Do you even listen to yourself, who the fuck drafts a back up QB in the first round, I'll give you a hint, it's not teams going 8-8 3 years in a row.

Holy shit are you claiming we've done well the last 4 years under Garrett? are you fucking retarded.

Dallas fans folks, this is shit base I have to deal with.

I wish I would have liked a different team as a little kid, because people are correct our fan base it is the absolute worst. I'm sure you also think Jerry is God, and the reason we have won 1 playoff game in 17 years with a fucking all star team.

See you at the end of the season when we are 8-8 again if Romo doesn't fall over and die, and claim we are doing GREAT.

1. 8-8 is such a beautiful record. Symmetrical. Double infinity. You know the Chinese consider 88 a lucky number, right? Can't take a chance of screwing that up.

2. Printing all those tickets, hiring a national anthem singer, getting somebody to clean up the parking lot after - the playoffs are just way too much trouble.

3. TONY ROMO IS A WINNER. Puff out your chest when you say it. If you get enough air in your lungs, it almost feels true.

4. A quarterback under 6 feet who scrambles all the time can't play in the NFL. (Is handed Russell Wilson's stats.) WHY DIDN'T SOMEBODY TELL THEM ABOUT THAT GUY?

5. The cheerleaders got a bad vibe from him. The cheerleaders have final say in personnel decisions.

6. Quarterbacks. They take all your money and they break your heart. They're done with 'em.

7. As you know, sports fans in Texas really don't care about winning and losing.

8. Jerry's son-in-law called in the pick before Jerry could get to the phone. Revenge for that thing with the glasses.

9. Whenever they think about using our first pick on a QB, an old gypsy comes out of the mist and says: Quincy Carter. Quincy Carrrrrterrrrr .

10. Drafting an offensive lineman gives Romo the crucial time he needs to decide exactly where to throw a backbreaking interception.

11. Really worried that Manziel would steal all the J embroidered hand towels.

12. Texas A&M 58, Arkansas 10, Sept. 29, 2012. Did we mention that Jerry went to Arkansas?

13. Look, there's room for only one star in the Dallas Cowboys organization . and it ain't the star painted at the 50-yard line.

Nice straw man to try and advert the attention away from you wanting a back up QB in the first round.

Wrong, if you look at my previous posts before the draft I said I want ALL DEFENSE. I would rather us be the fucking Giants if it lets us progress in the playoffs.

But since the only choice Dallas was even contemplating was a future QB for one that is constantly injured, and an Offensive guard we do not need. Fucking right I'll take the possible future franchise QB...

And The Mighty Quinn will profit greatly. I am, as always, excited for another disappointing season.

The offensive line definitely improved a lot towards the end of last year, but I wouldn't say he had all day to throw. He can mask poor offensive line play by his ability to evade defenders.

His injury last year was something that was most likely cumulative over a long period of time and not something that happened on a single play in a game or practice. If you herniate a disc in your lower back from a single hit you're not going to just get up and play through it. So I can see why drafting an offensive linemen isn't the worst decision in the world, it does make Romo less likely to be injured and should improve their abysmal run game.

I'm guessing Jerry thinks his new D coordinator will fix everything because it worked out so great last time

Funny to see the fans of all NFL teams on the internet breathe a huge sigh of relief they passed on JFF except for the Dallas fans who are in meltdown mode.

If the Texans take a QB now I hope its Aaron Murray. He seems the least awful of the remaining ones.

I dont think the Texans are ready for a QB to sure-them-up in the long term. I would guess they're riding the FA train for another 2 years until their O line and D restabilize.

Man I just woke up thinking if Manziel could possibly have been put in a worse position. It is cold in Cleveland. Very, very cold. If no one has visited the area (I don't recommend it) the lake effect chill is horrible in the winter. Basically similar to Buffalo but with less snow. The AFC North is always known for it's defenses. Steelers and Ravens being the poster children but the Bengals lately have held the defensive crown. He is going to be getting hit nearly every down, while freezing and hitting tundra. It won't be a good situation. I don't see how it is possible for him to succeed.

So Louisville had more players taken in the first round than Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, Texas...

HILARIOUS considering we had a "weak" conference even though the Big East and AAC beat the fuck out of "superior conference" teams 2 years in a row such as Miami, Florida, Baylor.
Check back at the end of the draft and see which teams have the most players taken overall. College football is all about depth. A lot of decent teams can have the stars align and have several guys go in the first round. If there's no one going in the draft after that, then your overall team probably isn't elite.

I say this as a Missouri fan, because Mizzou had more first round draft picks than anyone else over a 3 year span from like 09-11, with Jeremy Maclin, Aldon Smith, Blaine Gabbert, and a few others. I think we had something like 6 first rounders in 3 years, and that was tied with Alabama for most over that span. Then if you looked at the entire drafts Mizzou had like 8 or 9 guys total drafted, while Alabama had like 20+. That's where the difference in the programs lie.

This past year, Mizzou had one of their best seasons ever, and we didn't have anyone go in the first round but we may set our record for most number of players drafted overall, we could have 6 or 7 go overall.

I foresee many defenders making the "money" gesture after laying JFF out, lulz will ensue.
