What the fuck are you talking about - "Will the Bucs, Raiders, and Vikings have to change their names?"

No. Because none of them are directly disparaging to a race solely based on the color of their skin.

Jesus christ, don't act like people are being SUPER SENSITIVE. You're just dumb as fuck.
You simple minded doofus. The whole issue is that people are offended by it and demanding a change. It's irrelivent WHY they are offended, what matters is that they are and because of it, are demanding a team change their name. If someone is offended for one of the billions of reasons people get offended, is it less legitimate than another persons opinion? That's exactly what it is, an opinion.

There are Indians who have come out in support of the name, they may be a minority, but they still exist. Why does their voice not carry the same weight as the majority? Because they are the minority of dissenting opinion? The majority of America doesn't give a rats ass about the name of a fucking team who's sole purpose is to put a piece of dead pig skin into a zone on a grass field. Go crusade against an issue that actually fucking matters. Whiny bitch.

naw. you're confirmed dumb as fuck.

in america you have the right to not be discriminated against or disparaged because of the color of your skin.

if the team name was an issue for almost ANY OTHER reason other than sexism or racism you wouldn't hear a fucking word.

Azeth, did you know the term "Redskin" was supposedly a racist word 5 years ago? Had you ever even heard someone say it other than when talking about the Washington Redskins? Most people would probably answer both of those as a no, and the ironic thing is I bet the term will now become a lot more prevalent going forward.

The ironic thing is I bet 999/1000 people would answer both of those as a no, but I bet the term becomes a lot more prevalent than it was going forward.
I'll answer that in an extremely convoluted way -

How often do you hear the term "Black skins"? Does not hearing it make it not racist?

So are you being racist if you call a Mexican a brown skin? Redskin may have been a derogatory term 150 years ago.

I didn't know the Redskins football team was going out and beating Indians while not playing football. Explain to me how the Indian population has been discriminated against.... That's right, they haven't. It's a fucking football teams name, this isn't the Klan.

Isn't this a lawsuit being brought forth by native Americans? I mean if anyone has the right to be offended and formally object to the trademarking of the name, I'd say it would be them.

I can't believe I'm entertaining this, but let's lay out a little scenario based on your thoughts here.

1. I create a charity. Our focus is doing cycling marathons to support burn victims and their families.

2. I name my charity "Fucking N*ggers"

What could possibly be the problem? We're an honorable group.

Litmus test:

Q: If a professional sports organization popped up today, what are the odds that they would ever be called "Redskins"?

A: Less than 0.

In the Year of our Lord 2014 it is considered a racist term. You can argue that all you want, but it's true. You could also argue that it's only been an issue recently, but that would be false. There's clearly been two previous attempts at taking away the trademark of the name, back in the 90s, and back in the 70s the team had to modify the "fight song" because it had references to scalping and shit. So it's not really a new thing, it's just we have this thing called the Internet which gives people a voice and Social Media which allows sharing of stuff, and between the two it's now an issue in the public eye.

Listen, I don't really give a shit if they change the name or not, but there is no question that it's offensive and racial. Why is anyone arguing otherwise?

They should just change the name. All the bullshit that comes along with it just isn't worth it. People are going to show up to watch the Washington NFL team no matter what the name is. Lord knows the team has sucked ass for so long and if that doesn't prevent them from showing up a name change won't. Just don't name the team Pelicans.

Wouldnt you assume that the league, Snyder, and the other owners will make more $ off the name change?

Every KC fan in the country now needs to re-gear with the new colors, jerseys etc

I do agree. A name change is inevitable with all the pressure on them, and it's not going to let up any time soon.

I agree it seems like a name change would just fix all the issues. Problem is the bleeding vagina liberals then move on to the next thing to be wildly offended about for no reason.

This.

Nobody is saying the name isn't offensive to some. On the flip side, it's not offensive to others. What people are arguing is the way the media and government are trying to force a privately owned company to change their name.
