I've seen a lot of "Warriors" mock ups (all fake, obv) that go with more of a military theme..like with a pentagon shape incorporated. Makes sense for the DC area. If I were Snyder I'd definitely cleanse all of the Native American stuff and start completely fresh. I believe it is slander to call the man a racist just because of this, but I also think the team is full of shit when they talk about how they honor Native American history and culture with the name and images. It's a football team, for fuck's sake. It's not supposed to be honoring anything but football!

What's next? Name changes for the Raiders and Buccaneers? How about the Vikings? Honoring people who rape and pillage by naming your football team after them is offensive to someone I'm sure. If you don't like the name of the team, don't buy the merchandise and don't go to the games. You have the right to be offended but that doesn't mean everyone must cater to it.

I hope you aren't remotely serious. Slander? No one's attacking "the man", they are attacking the name and logo. I can't even imagine being a Redskins fan and wanting to defend Snyder in any way in the first place.
Last I checked pirates weren't a protected group, much less even a race or creed. They are a bunch of scumbag criminals. So...uniquely suited to representing the city of Oakland!
Do Vikings even exist anymore? And if anyone cares they are probably in the upper Midwest and find that logo bad ass, not offensive.

Everyone seems to have this burning desire to be offended by everything. And if you aren't offended you're seen as an irrational right winger.
Well, I live within 30 miles of Redskins headquarters. Just telling you what I've seen personally. At times the discussion has been less than civil. I don't think the Donald Sterling comparisons have been particularly fair (made by members of Congress, no less), and that's before you get to the sewage on news website comments.
It's also perfectly reasonable to "defend" Snyder on this without endorsing his shit-tier ownership tenure on the football side. I'm guessing the name will be changed before the end of this decade, and I'm fine with it.

Color me equally surprised that Snyder hasn't jumped on this. I mean, for a guy who does his best to squeeze every dollar out of his fanbase as possible he sure is leaving a lot of money on the table.
