Seeing more people saying Dennard is going to go top 10 lately.
I think most years he'd be top 10 without a doubt, but with so many teams looking for QB in a deep class I could easily see a lot of the stand out defensive players dropping to the middle.

Glad to join the party. I think drafting a QB to ride the pine behind Dalton would be a good idea. I like Dalton, and I think he has the potential, but his weaknesses are just too easy to exploit. Hoping we can grab AJ McCarron in the fourth or fifth round.

I like Dalton, too, but he does have his weaknesses. I also think AJ McCarron is the least talked about QB with the highest NFL potential. I'm hoping the Griefs pick him, too.

It's very plain to see that the Chiefs need help on the defense. Sure we have a few great players, but no depth obviously. I'm really counting on the new GM Dorsey to kick some ass at his job.

Perhaps someone competent on the bench will give Dalton the encouragement he needs to really get it together.

I don't get why people like McCarron at all. It's really unlikely he'll shit the bed, but do you really want to take a 3rd round flier on a young Chad Pennington? What's the point of having a low ceiling guy ride the bench? Guys like Boyd and especially Garrapollo are going to go later and have much higher ceilings, which to me makes them great candidates for a developmental guy.

Bengals draft is basically wide open. Depth in the secondary and o-line would be good, but they can basically take bpa all day.

See any significant changes coming for Cincinnati after yet another wild card loss? I mean after 18 seasons from 1991-2008 where they had a winning record one time (one division title, one playoff birth) I am sure fans are happy that they've won 2 division titles and made the playoffs 4 times in the last 5 years....but after 4 wild card losses in those 5 years I'd wonder if the owners are going to make a change at head coach or something else to inspire the team to get over the hump.

It reminds me of the late 90s early 2000s Buccaneers who with Dungy made the playoffs a bunch and won times division titles and even won some playoff games, but he wasn't getting them to the Super Bowl They broke the bank for Gruden and won the title the next season. Maybe Bengals ownership could look to do something similar if there is a coach out there they think is worth making a run for?

Mike Brown is a lot of things, but he's above all fiercely loyal. Next year is the end of Lewis's contract, and I can't see him not getting that year. The coaching staff is excellent, so there won't be changes there unless someone gets a promotion to HC somewhere else. Even if Gruden gets a gig the Bengals have Hue Jackson ready to take over because the coaching staff is ridiculously deep. It's a bit frustrating because it seems like all the pieces are there, but a lot of shit needs to go right to win in the playoffs. The Bengals also lost their best player for the year, and it's a credit to Zimmer that the defense is as good as it was. Atkins anchors the whole defense though and is integral to the defensive scheme. The Bengals drop 7 in to coverage probably more than any other team in the league, and Atkins is such a ridiculous disruptive force that he dramatically cuts down on the pressure on the secondary on his own.

A lot of Bengals fans dream realignment would make Lewis the GM and promote Zimmer to HC.

This loss wasn't on Lewis. He's 0-5 in playoffs and that's hard to ignore, but this loss was on our offensive line offering poor protection for Dalton, Dalton's inability to deal with pressure, and Gruden's lack of adjustment to the Chargers defensive plan. It was obvious the Chargers were just trying to get into Dalton's face every down. We didn't run a screen play until the fourth quarter. Dalton is young so I have a hard time throwing him under the bus, but he made too many Schaub/Sanchez plays in this game. The fumble while diving headfirst was Benny Hill bad.

EDIT: I just looked at the snap distribution. Tyler Eifert, our first round draft pick, was only in the game for three snaps. Gruden fucking sucks. So bad. Tries to "outsmart" the opposing defenses all the time. I hope he gets the Redskins HC gig. Thing is, I bet the Redskins would be a lot better with him.

I'm ready for the Lions to make a move with a QB in the draft. Stafford's offseason comments bothered me. Get some secondary help in the early rounds, and pick a QB you think can play in a few years.

Boyd is a pick I'm definitely down with. I know the Bengals are in a BPA situation which worries me. Because we did jack and shit yesterday. I'm not sure what else we can do to help this team beyond getting Dalton to not suck complete ass under pressure.

What has Stafford been saying? He should keep his mouth shut since only having Cutler in his division stops him from being the worst underperforming QB in the NFC North.

I don't see how you can say it isn't on Lewis. He is a coach who has proven time and time again that his teams aren't up for big games. It seems like every time there is a "must win" game we come out and shit the bed completely. It has been this way for years. The playoffs just highlight the issue because those are all truly must win and not just important regular season games.

It also wasn't all offense issues that game. For whatever reason the rush defense wasn't showing up. Malauga played like shit (expected) and Dre played like shit (expected.) We weren't blitzing very often. The entire defense was playing extremely conservatively. I would really like to take a dominate LB in the draft, not sure if any are available, and not draft an undersized college DE and transform into LB like we're talking about.

Well getting healthy is a big thing. Bengals o-line was kinda shit yesterday, but half of them were really banged up along with Eifert. Every team is gonna have injuries and be playing hurt at this time of year, but the healthiest teams tend to make the deep runs. Or have a really good QB.

You combine a banged up o-line, both starting corners, Atkins, with the sustained OLB and Safety injuries, that's a lot.

I would be fine with that argument if I felt like we got outplayed. But I didn't leave the game thinking that. It felt very much to me the Bengals just came out flat, uninterested and not ready to go. The gameplan wasn't ideal, the play calling was bad and the execution was bad. If the Chargers manhandled us and it wasn't mostly unforced mistakes I would be fine and tip my hat to the Chargers and realize a better team just beat us. And I'm not such a homer I can't realize the difference between getting beat and beating yourself. It felt like the latter yesterday.

It was both. The Chargers D-line got enough pressure for Andy to freak out. I'm beginning to agree more and more that Dalton is the one holding this team back. Elite defense, excellent receiving corp, versatile RB tandem, solid O-line. It's just crazy to me that just about every pick in the draft could be BPA with the exception of a OL pick here and a CB pick there. And this team couldn't even win in the first round.

It could be that the Chargers are getting hot at the right time. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat the Broncos in Mile High this weekend.

Dalton played like shit no doubt but it was a collective shit fest that lead to the game. Don't forget about Gio's key fumble and Green's inexcusable drop. But if Lewis can't beat the Chargers in the first round at home they'll never see an easier set of circumstances. You can't just keep doing the same thing expecting better results.
