How many offers did the Browns have to make before someone caved? I'm glad they finally got someone, but they shouldn't have fired the last guy.

That makes it worse. They didn't have the personnel last year and they won't this year either. So why the hell are they sticking with it? Because Jerry Jones, that's why.
They had to use 19 different D-linemen over the course of the year and were down 9 of 11 starters by Week 17.

Yeah, going from a Dline of Ware, Hatcher, Ratliff, and Spencer to Ware, random guy, Hatcher, and random guy really hurt them. Ware and Hatcher didn't play every game either. Sean Lee was hurt, Bruce Carter decided he forgot how to be an effective linebacker and they had something of a revolving door at the remaining linebacker position. And the secondary can only be so effective in the face of a nonexistent pass rush. The Kiffin hire was apparently all Jerry, and he hates admitting mistakes so here we are.

They locked up Bailey until 2020 today, which is a good move on their part. First time in forever they've had a reliable kicker.

Oh, I'm sorry, am I not allowed to rationalize the poor play of the defense this year? I'll be sure to keep that in mind for when you guys rationalize poor play for your teams.

Bengals lost our all-pro tackle, at some points both our starting corners (and the good corner for damn near the entire fucking season), safeties, various positions on the line and for god knows what reason we only got to lose Malauga for a game. Teams that complain about injuries are teams that are built like shit (see the Falcons) and with a terrible scheme.

Cowboys D was shitty even before they had all the injuries. They may not have been the absolute worst in the NFL if they were healthier, but their absolute ceiling is a below average defense. Their safeties are terrible and Ware hardly produced in the 4-3 while he was dominating the league in the 3-4. It's easy to think Spencer being healthy and Ratliff not being a POS would have solved everything, but I really doubt it

Barry Church is not terrible and Ware was hurt pretty much the entire season (past week 4). Ware may just be starting his decline though since he's had multiple nagging injuries for the past 2 seasons.

O line can be a bit tougher though, its harder to get all pro quality tackles and centers and teams just don't carry the amount of extras at those positions to supply the same potential depth as on D or even WR. But yeah, Dallas seems to have no contingency plans for a defensive star/starter going down year to year.

It is because Dallas has no depth because the team is so shitily built with mediocre players like Austin having cap raping contracts.

It's more about poor drafting than 1 shitty contract. Things like drafting Escobar and trading away 1st and 3rds for Roy Williams are why this team has no depth
