He may be joking or on some sort of Bradford induced depression, but there's really no way to know who's going to have a top 5 pick the following year. Except for the Browns I guess, and while you'd think a team would never put themselves in a infinite loop trading multiple picks for their own picks back.. they are the Browns.

Everything I read about this confirms my initial impression. Martin was a huge pussy that should have been in the drama club and not the football team. He was cursed with a huge athletic body but not the mindset to go with it. Maybe Incognito and his buddies should have realized that, but I doubt that they had any experience dealing with football players that were that sensitive before since that type of kids don't usually play football.

This is interesting because I took almost the exact opposite away from the report with the exception of Martin being a pussy about the whole thing.

Incognito is a DICK OF EPIC PROPORTIONS. Did you see the tweets the dude sent last week? Even if he was right, he still looks like/is a dick.

The report basically took Martin's side, not sure how this vindicates Incognito.

Martin's more sensitive than your average player, but Incognito's been kicked off multiple teams and the Dolphins coach tried to boot him again for reasons completely unrelated to Martin

I didn't read it all, but the text messages didn't seem that bad to me. Looked like normal guy talk mostly. We don't get all descriptive like that, but my friends and I joke with each other about fucking sisters and stuff all the time, and it's not a big deal. If stuff like that goes on with normal people I can only imagine the shit that pro athletes with 10x more testosterone say and do.

That first link Jooka posted is retarded. The context of that whole article is misleading. The text was from after Martin rolled over on Incognito for this whole mess. Of course at that point they're gonna say he's a piece of shit and not welcome any more. Would any of you still think highly of a friend you trusted who basically ratted you out to the cops?

It still seems the same as it did a few months ago to me. Dude was part of the group then just cracked.

If you are quoting that as something shocking then I am sure you haven't spent much time in locker rooms.

I'm not saying Incognito isn't a dick. I'm saying that dicks like that are normal on a football team. I wasn't even on the football team but I used to lift weights with those guys all the time and the stuff Incognito says sounds just like the shit that used to be said in the locker room when I was in high school. Everybody knows it's just bravado and shit talking and you're supposed to give as good as you get. Anyone else on the team would have said "Shut up you dick sucking redneck cowfucker" and moved on instead of going home and writing long letters to their mothers about how people are mean to them.

I guarantee that no one that plays on any NFL team would be shocked by Incognito's behavior and as we learned in that "Boys Will Be Boys" book, people like Charles Haley were 100 times worse than Incognito ever dreamed of being. I read that book when it came out BTW, and it is pretty fucking entertaining and you will read about all kinds of dudes acting like Ritchie Incognito.

Don't be a retard and pretend that NFL locker rooms are remotely similar to a business environment. The fact that they make them put on suits to do interviews after the game doesn't mean that it's a professional environment.

You're spot on about the culture, but the problem the NFL has here is that itisa workplace and a business environment. At least in the eyes of the most basic labor laws. You have 53+ contracted players and coaches, who knows how many salaried staff, etc. Using the defense of "locker room culture" is just going to leave Stephen Ross with lighter pockets if the Martins ever take this shit to civil court or something.

If I had to guess, Goodell is going to vaporize Incognito and probably leave Pouncey and whoever else was named with 3rd degree burns. Examples will be made here. The league really has to start worrying about preparing to insulate the other clubs from liability on sexual harassment, racial, etc. claims - just like all of the new contact rules everyone hates are solely designed to head off future concussion claims. Especially with an openly gay player coming in soon.

I'm pretty sure they're not texting during games and practices. They were friends outside of work, and that's where these texts are from. And locker room environments are nowhere close to your 9-5 desk job.

I have no doubt that the lawyers can get into this and make some people write checks over it. I just don't like Incognito being character assassinated in the media as some horrible person. He was just a football player acting like a football player and I would bet that he had genuine affection for Martin and was probably totally shocked when this all blew up.

That's what it seems like to me too. It's like the Saints' bounty shit all over again. Pay for performance probably went on in just about every locker room, but it got out to the media and the organization got crushed for it because of the new "safer" NFL image they're pushing.
