Sounds like Hardy is already mulling over options to combat his discipline in court as well, although not at all the same situation.

If Hardy gets off then it basically makes the NFL a system of: fuck up -> pay off person -> scott free. By the same logic AP and Rice should sue as well since they didn't have any criminal charges brought up.

I'm hoping Robert Kraft decides to fight his punishment in court now, if Brady gets nothing seems like he might have a case as well.

Doesn't Goodell make more per year than Brady?
It's not about goodell though. In a sport like this, selectively not enforcing rules hurts everyone who abided by those rules. In the NFL most of those players are black and all but a few of them make less money.

So like I said, justice works for the rich white man and sticks it to the poor black man. Again.

I just read the ruling. It is exactly how he lost it.

Goodell, ruled that some testimony was out of bounds on the appeal, giving the appearance of unfairness. Second he based his decision on the word "knew", when the report said "generally aware", again an arbitrator is not supposed to introduce new evidence. Third he drew punishment from the steroid use section, which the judge said are not related.

In other words, Goodell needs to buy an outside arbitrator. I can see now more cases been taken to the court since its hard to be the arbitrator of your own punishment.
Didn't the judge only overrule the appeal where it was reduced to 4 games? So it should revert back to the 10 game suspension.

"Based upon the foregoing and applicable legal authorities, the Court hereby denies the
Management Council's motion to confirm the Award and grants the Players Association's
motion to vacate the Award, thereby vacating the four-game suspension of Tom Brady,
effective immediately."

Hardy has already served a 15 game suspension. How is that scott free?

Depends if he can successfully take the NFL to court for pay lost during that time.

Though I know he was severely punished now that he has to play for the Cowboys. A fate no man should suffer.

The judge overruled the arbitrator. Basically in legalese he said the arbitrator fucked up, royally. This clears the way to Tom Brady to play, until the NFL appeals to a higher court. It make no sense to punish Tom Brady by ruling the arbitration incorrect, and then have him incur the same penalty or worse if he had not gone to the arbitrator.

Keep in mind there are rules and regulations for arbitrators well established in law. Goodell basically wiped his ass with them, and the court called him on it.

Regarding your comment about justice. All the players were siding with Tom, regardless of him been guilty or not. They didn't wanted to set the precedent of a player been suspended for stuff they know. Imagine the ramifications, if a player is generally aware that another player is using PED, using the same logic Goodell applied here, that player would have been suspended for 4 games. This was a win for all the players in curtailing Goodell's god powers over them legally speaking.

NFL taking way too far without any hard evidence. What a odd situation to go "all in" on.

I think they were nervous about being seen as going lenient on a star player. Like it is easy to come down on some of these players who are known to NFL fans and regionally but Tom Brady is known by absolutely everyone. If the NFL just swept it under the rug people would call foul. So they went absolutely overboard.

I hope Brady starts bringing a bike pump to games and working it on the sidelines to "warm up his throwing arm". Fuck Goodell.
That would be hilarious. Greg Hardy and Ray Rice (if he ever plays again) should bring sex dolls to the sideline and beat them to get warmed up too. AP could probably come up with little boy doll of his own.

Hardy has a stronger case than Brady did. Goodell gave him a 10 game suspension when the policy at the time Hardy's incident happened was for only for 2 games

yea except the part where Hardy actually committed an offense and Brady didnt.

Other than that yea Hardy had a "stronger case"

You think the dolphins are 4 brady-less games away from taking the division?

Or are you thinking that the suspension might have also curtailed some cheating, but now they'll be back at it balls to the wall?

I think a 4 game handicap would have made it alot more fair for the rest of the teams. Sort of like starting with a 4 stroke penalty.

NFL filed the appeal, did NOT ask for an expedited appeal.

so brady WILL most likely be playing this entire year due to the minimum 6 month timeline for this.

This isn't about Brady anymore it's about Goodell wanting to do what ever he wants without courts meddling and making sure he follows the laws. He isn't going to win either. Stupid case to do this with.
