I realize that. His post made it seem like he was only aware of one though. And honestly, if it'd just been the first guy, people could believe he was flowing to the play and didn't see him. Refs do get lost on the field sometimes. But the second fucker coming in and spearing him ruined that argument.
I'm with gavin in wondering how seriously the ref was hurt. It looked like that spear could have killed him, but I'd expect it to be part of the story if he needed any kind of treatment at all.

Is agree that without a video people could have argued he accidentally ran into him. But with the video showing exactly what he did, that argument is gone. He ran directly towards him with his head locked on him and lowered his shoulder right before the impact.

I was nothing special, but I was all-league in H.S. so naturally I assumed I was a bad ass. When I was 19 I was the assistant head-coach for a nearby H.S. where I was going to college, being a bad ass H.S. player I would hit the other players and go out and illustrate without pads or a helmet. One day one of my linemen was pissing me off, so I lined up opposite of him and his helmet connected with my jaw. I deserve an Oscar for my performance because he dislodged a wisdom tooth and nearly knocked me unconscious but I got through the rest of the afternoon with no one the wiser.

I find it odd that you linked a SBnation article about an ESPN article instead ofthe ESPN article itself.
