Honestly looking at those schedules, Denver was very fortunate they got the win against the Pats and that Dalton got hurt today. Imagine if they lost that game and Chiefs were only 1 back right now with 3 to play and Denver having to play Pittsburgh and Cincy the next two weeks while KC has Baltimore/Cleveland?

Honestly, with the way the Denver O-line has been playing, I don't see Denver winning out these last few games. Even the Chargers game, since both the Raiders and the Chiefs beat the Broncos at home this season. Brock has been sacked 17 times in 18 quarters since he took over in the Chiefs game.
Yeah, its hard to imagine this Denver team outscoring Pittsburgh right now, or protecting Brock enough against Cinci or even possibly SD.

Baltimore/Cleveland? Hahahaha, ok so Oakland might be a tough last game for the Chiefs at least.

Goddam, Bob Costas sounds like hell. Why don't they just have someone fill in when ol' Pink Eyes get sick?

2 games at home for KC and Denver sound great, but who knows what the weather will look like and how that will influence it. Division games too? Could go either way no matter how the teams are playing.

Denver will probably win 2/3 and it'll be moot, but it will be fun to follow if they lose in Pittsburgh.

Since the Steelers will probably be #6, pretty good shot to see a rematch in Denver on wildcard weekend too.

I love how the Sunday night crew talking about the NFC East and who's going to win claim all 3 have tough schedules (Eagles have Arizona next week, Giants have Panthers and Vikings in back to back weeks) while the Skins play 3 teams that are below .500 the rest of the way. Zero mention of them even having a chance. Keep us under the radar.

Speaking of seeding, I've been dicking around with a playoff simulator and the #2 NFC seed is almost certainly going to come down to who wins the Green Bay @ Arizona game in two weeks.

If Arizona wins, that game alone clinches the division and #2 seed and Philly and Seattle games don't matter (except to possibly knock Seattle out of a wild card spot)

If Green Bay wins that game the #2 seed is theirs, unless Arizona beats Philly AND Seattle, or unless Minnesota wins out and takes the division (Arizona and Minnesota would have the same record in this scenario but Arizona has the tiebreaker). In every scenario where Minnesota and Green Bay finish with the same record, the division goes to who wins their game in week 17.

If Green Bay wins that game, they'd have the tiebreaker, but they'd still be a game back of Arizona. Aside from that game, Green Bay has the Raiders and Minnesota, and Arizona has the Eagles and Seattle. About equal schedule wise, and Green Bay would have to go one better over those 2 weeks even if they win that game head to head against Arizona. Could see it happening, but I wouldn't call it likely to happen.

Yeah good point. I forgot to include that I was assuming Seattle will beat Arizona in week 17 (with how Seattle is playing lately, and the possibility of Arizona not caring about the outcome of the game if they have #2 locked up). Or lose to Philly next week (trap game?!).

Seattle might (most likely actually) clinch the #5 seed and a trip to play the NFC Least champ in week 16 and sit most of their starters for a quasi-bye for the Arizona game.

No trap game, Arizona will be playing for their 1st round bye. They also technically can still get the #1 seed by virtue of better conference record than Carolina (any scenario where Arizona is able to catch Carolina would mean they'll have a better conference record). If they beat Philly as you'd expect next week, they'd have to lose to Green Bay and Seattle while Green Bay beats them and Minnesota as the only way they would lose a 1st round bye.

Not sure if it's likely. I expect the Vikings to beat the Bears and the Giants (both games at home for them). They still control their destiny to win their division too if they win out (would be 1-1 against GB in that case, with edge in divisional record).
