Love the state of sports reporting. For months, it's been reported by big websites (ESPN and Bleacher Report) that Bell had to come back before week 10 or so to accrue a year of eligibility. However, it appears the reality is that since he is a veteran, he actually doesn't need to do that. He can skip the whole year and still have the same options as if he had signed the franchise tender (so, free agency, transition tag, or second franchise tag).
