Yeah, Shanny covered in that video pretty extensively the reasons why Yakupov moving out of the way was perfectly legal. It was defensive, he was basically stationary, and Carcillo was coming in for a high, hard, dirty hit.

Hope some of you watched that Pens/Panthers second period, shit was bonkers. 7 total goals. 1 from Neal to tie it up, then 3 straight Power Play goals from the Panthers. Vokoun gets the hook and Fleury comes in. Pens score 3 straight. 4-4 going in to the 3rd now.

So I know this is pure Pens talk, but Paul Martin might be the most improved player in the league this year. He got the big 5m a year contract before last season then proceeded to suck every dick he could find. He was awful, multiple losses could be traced right to his doorstep. They gave him the Come-To-Jesus speech this offseason, asking if he wanted to even stay and deal with all the shit he'd have to eat. He said he wanted to earn his contract. And he's just been really solid on D this year. He's a -2 but that stat is retarded, he was +9 last year and he was awful=P He's even got 4 goals and 15 points this year and that shit is just gravy.

Just nice to see after spending most of last year motherfucking his name and family and everyone he's ever loved.

Are we finally seeing Oates getting the Caps to learn and play his system well? Totally dominated Carolina for almost the whole game tonight, ended up 3-0 only b/c Cam Ward was on acid at times in net for the Canes. Backstrom finally had a solid full game, and Ovechkin somehow didn't have any shots on goal tonight (thanks post), but did just about everything else well. Probably ends up with 3 or 4 assists instead of just the one had Cam not been out of his mind.

Still wonder if it's too little too late to save anything this season though. Figuring out what to do with Ribs is going to be tough. If we don't re-sign him we have to get something for him...absolutely cannot let him walk for nothing like we did with other guys last year (Semin).

I don't listen to people who cheer a team in the Western Conference. Easy fucking competition all season long!

I told the BF to have his fun now; it's not like we see the panthers in the post season.

Almost as cute as how much weight you place on the regular season. In reality the champion will be whoever has a goalie go apeshit, same as most years.

Vokoun is mostly providing comedy value right now, it's silly and if he was on another team it would be hilarious.
