Lightning actually have a pretty good attendance track record for the geographic location. Why is Tampa and Florida in there with Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Boston, Detroit and Buffalo. Seriously if their attendance is that bad fold/move the teams.
Should have been
Toronto, Detroit, Boston, Montreal, Ottawa, Buffalo, NYR
NJD, Flyers, Pens, Carolina, Islanders, Washington, Tampa, Florida
Winnipeg, Columbus, Dallas, St Louis, Nashville, Minnesota, Chicago
Colorado, Vancouver, San Jose, Los Angeles, Edmonton, Calgary, Anaheim. Phoenix
I would have pushed to get Chicago in the same as the other 5 Original 6 teams, too, that would be a fun conference. However this leaves room for when Phoenix becomes the Nordiques.
They did win a Cup too. I'd be curious to know if it's dropped off and by how much since then.Lightning actually have a pretty good attendance track record for the geographic location.
I just looked and you are right I am actually pretty shocked. Averaged 18.5k per game last season. I still do not agree with putting them in the conference with those other teams howeverLightning actually have a pretty good attendance track record for the geographic location.
Unfortunately I didn't get to watch the game, but I'm glad we at least got a point out of it. Shot count makes it look like it was lopsided though. At United Center, time to embarass some Edmonton Eomers
His ass should have been fired after last season. He's been the GM since July of 2008, almost 5 years now. He's done almost nothing to improve the team. Most of his veteran signings have been at best mediocre, and some have been terrible. No trades of any note. His job is to build a solid supporting cast of veterans to help out the youngsters, and he's almost entirely failed to do so. We'll see how he does at the trade deadline this year, and/or over the summer, I guess. But I'm not hopeful he'll do much of anything.Fidlen_sl said:Tambellini really hasnt had to do much as our GM. Drafting first overall makes it an easy choice come draft day. The size he brought in with fistric was a good move but aside from that what all has he done thats been amazing? Im not going to go through my list but this team needs work.
Its a little deceptive. Oilers led most of the game and a lot of those Hawks shots were garbage shots. Game looked pretty even for the most part.Unfortunately I didn't get to watch the game, but I'm glad we at least got a point out of it. Shot count makes it look like it was lopsided though.
The wild weren't a playoff team before Suter and pairse came to town. At best they will turn the wild into a playoff team. People who were saying the wild were the team to beat were delusional. Suter has struggled without having weber.Someone mind telling a bandwagon fan what the fuck happened to the Wild? They spend all that money in free agency for a barely 500 record? I heard all kinds of talk after the acquisitions that they were the team to beat now. I am disappoint.
It's been shown pretty conclusively over the years that you can't just run out and buy your way to a Stanley Cup by signing free agents. You have to build a team, and there's no magic formula or recipe for how a team will gel. Buffalo did similar and look where they're at. Prior to the cap numerous teams tried it with little success to show for it.Someone mind telling a bandwagon fan what the fuck happened to the Wild? They were dead last in scoring last year too. Avg goals for was 224 last season. That said, I'm pretty surprised they're not doing better than they are. Looks to me like Setoguchi, Heatley and Parise are all not scoring nearly enough. Even with those three, Cullen and Koivu they're a bit light on offensive forwards. Goals against wise they're middle of the pack, but they're dead last for scoring.
There is the clipping penalty, but thta was't a clip since he was moving out of the way, not towards the Hawk. There is no rule in hockey about avoiding hits. None. It's common fucking sense that if someone is coming to paste you, you can move out of the fucking way.
