Can't wait to go see these two play March 27th.
Typical cheap shotting Habs. Loved that Chara went beast mode on Emelin. Can't wait for the shot of him turtling at Chara's feet to hit the net. So typical of the blue blanc et rouge.
Backup goalie was waiting for his pads to arrive.Panthers had their coach as backup goalie today? Whatttttt...
Looks like pretty obvious interference well after the puck had already been chipped ahead. I do agree the stanchion itself was the biggest reason this play was an issue, otherwise probably just a run of the mill 2 minute minor for interference. Although I'm sure both sides can argue about Chara's intent until they were blue in the face it just isn't one of those things I think you can know for sure.Strong hockey play in an unfortunate location on the ice.
Pretty much this. Let me preface the rest of my reply with: I don't believe Chara was actually trying to injure Pacioretty but the dolt whose clearly never played a game of hockey in his life talking about it being a 'strong hockey play' is laughable. Anyone who plays Hockey understands where/if a stanchion is located on the ice. Chara got beat on the play and took Pacioretty out. The score was 4-0 for the Habs at that point and the two of them had been going at it all night. Chara opted to take Pacioretty out after he had been beat. The context of the video was in reference to a Bruins fan talking about Chara 'going beast mode' and the habs being a dirty team.Looks like pretty obvious interference well after the puck had already been chipped ahead. I'll just leave this here..Pretty much this. I've played hockey for 30 of my 33 years on this Earth, thanks. Put that play on the other side of the rink and it's nothing more than Chara finishing a check. Patches falls down, gets back up, and plays on."After a thorough review of the video, I can find no basis to impose supplemental discipline," Murphy said in a league statement. "This hit resulted from a play that evolved and then happened very quickly - with both players skating in the same direction and with Chara attempting to angle his opponent into the boards. I could not find any evidence to suggest that, beyond this being a correct call for interference, that Chara targeted the head of his opponent, left his feet or delivered the check in any other manner that could be deemed to be dangerous.
"This was a hockey play that resulted in an injury because of the player colliding with the stanchion and then the ice surface," Murphy added."
So...yes you agree it should be a penalty for interference, or not a penalty just good, hard, Bruins' hockey? I don't come down on either side of intent or whatever, I'm just pointing out that regardless of the result of the play it was pretty clearly interference on Chara.I'll just leave this here..

I liked the guy, but I guess it's good that he is going to a sissy team that needs him.The Edmonton Oilers acquired forward Mike Brown from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in 2014.
This season, Brown has one assist in 12 games as well as 70 penalty minutes. He has missed eight games due to a shoulder injury.
Originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth-round of the 2004 NHL Draft, Brown played 19 games with the Canucks before being dealt to the Anaheim Ducks in 2009.
The Maple Leafs acquired Brown from the Ducks in 2010 for a fifth-round pick.
In 254 NHL games, Brown has 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points and 519 penalty minutes.
Frattin is cleared to come back, so someone had to gnly Holzer can be sent to the Marlies without being put on waivers, and they want to keep him.Still have Lupul and Gardiner to come back as well, so there will be more leaving in the coming weeks.Maybe a trade for picks again for Steckel,John-Michael Liles or Komisarek.I would guess Steckel myself as Komis has a contract above his value(maybe a buyout for him) and Liles is wanted by alot.Surprising move by the Leafs. Could they be changing direction?
I need to go and check if hell froze over.
You are a veritable fount of information. To me it's a hockey play. Most checks are made immediately after the puck is moved. This one was 1.2 seconds after the puck got chipped up the boards. That's fair grounds for fonishing a check especially when both parties were battling for it.So...yes you agree it should be a penalty for interference, or not a penalty just good, hard, Bruins' hockey? Penalties are hockey plays too. This wasn't finishing a check in my eyes so much as starting it after the puck had already been played and well gone from the vicinity. It was clearly late. Again though, I think the only other thing that makes it standout was the unfortunate location where it occurred on the ice.To me it's a hockey play.
