How awesome would that be BTW? Really put the theory about post season being a whole new season to the test. Hawks win 23 straight, lose 25 straight, and then sweep the playoffs! Best season ever. Not that any of us would be able to come to this thread with you here after the first series=P
Maybe the Leafs pick up Ryane Clowe, otherwise our defense just needs more experience.

Scott Howson is scouting for the Oilers for the rest of the season. Old boys club strikes again. I almost hope we finish near the bottom this league, not so that we can draft high again, but so that the entire fucking city will storm Katz's house demanding the entire management of the organization be put out on their fucking asses. Lowe (Horcoff) and Tambellini (Khabibulin) are responsible for two of the worst contracts in recent league history and a complete inability to fill the roster out with decent veteran help, instead picking up absolute shit like Belanger and Eager.
Oilers should have done better this year, has to be a coaching problem or players not getting along.I think I would work on the details, like positioning and back checking for the least experienced(ie Yak looks lost out there, in the limited amount of play I saw anyways,when not on the offence).Call it a throw away season and give some AHL's their 5 games.

Like I said, we have your number for whatever reason over the past few years. That roster is on pace to finish at or near the bottom of the conference and league for the fifth year in a row.
It's cause our d-men have been mediocre with Smid and Petry taking steps back, Whitney playing fucking atrocious (seems to be turning it around though), and getting absolutely nothing out of our bottom 6 forwards. Management's job was to fill the roster out with quality depth. Smyth, Belanger, Eager, Petrell, Hordichuk, Jones and Brown are various levels of fucking awful to maybe deserving of 5 minutes a night (26 points in 96 games scored between them). The kids are doing just fine. It's ridiculous when Horcoff is far and away our best forward outside of the kids and almost no one else is deserving of much if any ice time.
Welp, couple fights in the first, even Kessel almost fighting, 9 penalties, this could get ugly.Damn Winnepigs starting shit.
