Goal from behind the net was funny and maddening at the same time.Leafs need to shoot more, rather than pass until they loose it, but they're holding up.The Leafs are playing a bit better in the second.Still have to count on teams below us to suck more.

I'm guessing most teams go through this most of the time. I'd say from about '94-'10 it was a running joke here in Pittsburgh. Radio station had a parody song where the refrain was just "SHOOT THE PUCK!"

From talking to fans of other teams it seems to be a pretty common fan gripe.
It is undeniably exciting. Especially since they have more firepower than any other team in the league so these type of games favor our boys generally. BUT it doesn't bode well for the more buttoned down style playoff games. Especially if Brooks Orpik continues to shit the bed. He's been one of the best stay-at-home defenseman in the league the last few years while getting no attention, suddenly this year he can't make plays, shut anyone down, or even get many hits. He's usually top 10-20 in the league in hits, this year I don't even think he's top-5 on the team. Something is way off with his game and it going to suck if he doesn't get it figured out before the postseason.
In my totally unbiased opinion I thought the Leafs deserved the win here, but a point is good.
Bone crushing hits to Crosby and Malkin(took him out of the game) makes me feel better about it.I am happy with this version of the Leafs, they show up for most games and play right to the end.

Sorry guys we're looking in to this problem. Sometimes posts get lost in the site cache for months at a time and then randomly show up. This post is obviously from some time in mid January.
So Vokoun is in net tonight. Instead of a 5-4 Pens game it should be more like 7-6 this game.

Well played Grimm. Had we swept this weekend's games we would have been 1 point out of 8th, so the dream was still alive if a long shot. Time to trade Ribs and anyone else we can get picks for I think. With Forsberg coming over next year (and hopefully Kuznetsov after the Olympics), we should just stock up and tank.
