Im suprisingly indifferent on this series. Just looking foward to seeing a good playoff hockey game and these teams have been delivering.

Under the circumstances you described? Yea, might be cool seeing everyone go apeshit over the upset. However if the rags go down another game or worse, I can see myself getting spiteful and rooting for the pens.
Whatever happens in our series, hopefully no hard feelings, all 3 series the last couple years have been some exciting hockey.

Grimm...Fleury is making people forget about '09 at this point. I almost feel bad for the guy. Almost.

Nah, no hard feelings. I'm not happy with the way we have been playing, i'm more frustrated with them then the caps.

My god that Nabokov interview was painful. Did he really just say he didnt even know who was playing in his first line?? The fuck..

MAF has allowed 40 goals in the last 10 playoff games and had a shutout in one if those ten.

That's just scary. Vokoun has to be in for Game 5...after all the moves they made at the deadline (or just before it) they can't afford to have Fleury drown them in the 1st round.

Oh man, that was brutal.

So some background here: My brother is Marc Andre Fleury's biggest fan. He fucking loves him. His prized possession is a Fleury St. Patrick's jersey with his autograph. At our local bar a bad Fleury game is the same as a bad day for my brother, he eats shit from every person there like he was the one in goal. That is how much he is in MAF's corner. He plays goalie in deck hockey and spent hundreds of dollars to have the same gear as Fleury a couple years back.

Tonight he threw his jersey on the ground and said they HAVE to play Vokoun. I can not express how insane this is. THAT is how bad Fleury played tonight. My brother stopped defending him after the second goal.

All this buildup about the MAF obsession I thought the next paragraph was going to be "Tonight, my brother killed himself."

That would have been the best post ever!

The night is young though and I left pretty early, I could still get a phone call. Cross your fingers!

They probably have a murder-suicide lover's pact that only your brother knows about

Rough one tonight. Kuemper has some potential but this was throwing him to the wolves. Can't really bitch though. Wild should have found the net in a couple of their 47 power plays.

Sharks bring out the brooms, and I was 100 feet away from Marleau when it happened! Getting waaaaaaaaay more drunk tonight!

Well, there's gonna be some serious changes - and first on the top of my head is AV. Grats Sharks - if you face the Hawks next round, give those fuckers a good beating.

The whole series was full of some pretty soft calls against the Canucks including a couple doozies tonight, but I doubt it'd have made much of a difference either way. I knew they wouldn't make it past the Sharks, though I think they'd have gone far if they did. The team from the top down needs some major changes to root out some of the apathy and lack of heart that has plagued them for years now. Sadly I don't think it will happen. One of the goalies will be gone, the coach will be gone, and beyond that, some 3rd and 4th liners will be shuffled around. It's going to take some empty seats to force management to make some real moves.

Gillis has been riding the Burke/Nonis train - the test of his tenure to see if he has the balls to make his real stamp on this team.

I don't see how it's the coach's fault really. Vancouver built a team around two soft players who wither in the playoffs. They have little or no scoring depth past the sisters and Kesler, and their D is extremely thin as well. I mean I agree that Vigneault is going to be fired because he's been around so long, but I just don't see how Vancouver's lack of success the past couple years is necessarily his fault. If anyone should be getting shit canned, it's Gillis for completely bungling the goaltending situation and not getting some depth and/or cap space by trading Luongo.

Agreed 100% Eomer, and now Schneider has looked like absolute garbage in these playoffs (even in the regular season i'd argue Luongo looked better)... What do they do now? What a shit-show.

Fleury's playoff stats look pretty damn rough for the past 4 years. They are gonna have to bench him surely?

And Niemi actually gets nominated for the Vezina. Did not see that coming. If we somehow beat the Hawks, I imagine that he will get it. SJ beating the Hawks is pretty unlikely, though. The Glass Man(Havlat) being injured still doesn't help our cause. At least we have a week off.

Radio1040(Canucks radio) has been a comic goldmine.

heh, just looked up Fleury's playoff stats, and they're fucking awful. Especially considering that he has won the Cup once, and made it to the finals another time. 2.72 GAA and .903 save percentage. Those are brutal numbers for a goalie on one of the best teams over the past 5 years. Luongo's by comparison are 2.54 and .916, and he supposedly can't get it done in the playoffs.
