Canada has won their independence. Until the Olympics that is.

Fucking Matthews leaving McDavid all alone in the slot to pinch a guy on the wall is such a Leafs way to lose. Is this how you guys feel normally?

I kid I kid. Congrats Canada. Its a fitting end with McDavid getting the OT winner.

Almost feels scripted :emoji_thinking:

How do you leave McDavid alone in the slot like that. Matthews with 2 chances to end the game on the other side just before.

Great game overall, though. Did a lot for hockey. Kinda sucks no Caps were playing but enjoyed it nonetheless.

I will say, that Canadian goalie was playing out of his mind down the stretch there.

Amazing game. Bummer the USA didnt win but it would be McDavid winning it all alone. Matthews finally showed something that game. Jack Hughes no where to be found all tournament and the injuries really caught up to the USA. Glad to see Larkin and Slavin finally getting to be on the big stage and delivering huge and getting massive recognition. Hopefully the dont invite Nelson and Trotchek to the Olympics. They definitely shouldnt of been there.

Reminded me of the goal Crosby scored at the 2010 Olympic. It's pretty much the goal that changed his career and the perception I had of him.

I'm still a bit sad that the habs didn't took Brady Tkachuk instead of Kotkaniemi in 2018.

As a Canadian and Canucks fan - I feel Quinn Hughes playing in that game would have pushed US to win last night.

Cale Makar was one of the key reasons why Canada won.

Canucks leveraged Lankinen to sign at league minimum by out waiting him until training camp just started.

Meanwhile a bunch of teams with goaltending issues ignored him despite some goalie analysts stating that he was ready to pop.
