Lots of Canadians around the Panthers yet they don’t have anywhere near the Lightning numbers…and I’m a Panther fan.

The population base in general around the Lightning is orders of magnitude larger.
Uh no. I’ve lived in both areas. You’re talking Tampa (Hillsborough/Pinellas) vs the South Florida region which is Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties. Sunrise is located in the middle of the tri-county area which is why they put the arena there.

I’m not sure if you’re talking walking distance from the arena or something? Even giving your claim the most favorable light I think “orders of magnitude” is ridiculous.

FYI:
Density (mi²) Miami-Dade County: 2,721,110: 8.54%: 2,679.75: Broward County: 1,966,120: 12.17%: 1,936.24: Palm Beach County: 1,524,560: 15.18%: 1,501.39: Hillsborough County: 1,512,070: 22.58%: 1,489.09: Orange County: 1,417,280: 23.40%: 1,395.74: Pinellas County: 978,872: 6.82%: 963.99: Duval County: 975,961: 12.75%: 961.13: Lee County: 802,791: 29.39%: 790.59: Polk County: 761,137: 26.20%: 749.57: Brevard County

My bad. I was merely looking at population density in the immediate cities. As there were nearly two million more in the Tampa area I made a stupid assumption, for which I apologise. I can't explain the difference in tickets sales. I guess Tampa has had rather more success, and many more Canadians I know who retire to Florida go to the Tampa Bay area.

Shrug.

Yeah I really can’t explain it. There are a fuckton of people in South Florida but for the most part the only team anyone really cares about down here is the Dolphins.

Yeah I don't think people realize how absolutely huge the population is from West Palm and south. It dwarfs the Tampa Bay area.

If I'm reading these numbers right we have a much higher population density, which kind of tracks. The east side of Florida is basically populated from Daytona down to key west. Much more spraed out then our ball sack on the west. Although city wise Miami has to be denser then Tampa.

Pinellas is more than double the most dense county in the state

What will be really entertaining is if this goes to 7…and the only thing that can top that of course is if the Leafs lose.
