I haven't watched any of it, being the type of game it is I feel like I won't get a feel for the game whatsoever from just watching streams. Am I correct to assume that? I know I'm just going to be flying around and trading and whatnot and that's exactly what I want.

I dunno, streams give you a good idea what the gameplay is.

Whether it engages you or not might not be able to tell just from streams.

But a stream will at least let you know if you are absolutely not going to enjoy it.

I'm really excited honestly, I almost booted up EVE just out of space-hype lmao (yes I know it's nowhere near the same). I will kill myself if it isn't launched with an FOV slider cause that shit on consoles is the worst thing I've ever seen. Aside from that, I like the rest of the gameplay I've seen.

Pretty sure FOV slider is in for pc version.

Its probably a bit more like eve than you think.

Core gameplay loop is explore, collect, craft, trade.

Some combat, but not a lot. Very simple for the most part that I've seen.

You can end up fighting a lot on planets with frenzied sentinels or rich in resources. The more I play the more I've ended up fighting both on foot and in space. Ship isn't up to snuff for dogfighting yet though so I still avoid it.

Grenades > floating and dog sentinels. Haven't seen any advanced sentinels like AT-AT's yet.

Yeah its stupid.

However, the game is like 6 gb to download, so its not too egregious.

If it was like 30gb I'd be pretty irritated at no preload.

No midnight release is a shit as well.

I wouldn't complain about that, but it's pretty fucking annoying given that they delayed the launch like one day before release date and now you can't even pre-load

But the game is 6gb, so whatever.

Really? Didn't know you couldn't still preorder it. Did you try GOG.com? They have a DRM version, so you can buy it once and fucking hand it out to friends even if you really feel like it.

Everything in the game is proceedurally generated.

And I'm pretty sure a lot of it is on their servers, as well.
