Yeah he was traditionally a stage actor and I imagine that the exaggerated overacting thing is normal for a stage production.

the script is awful (lucas' style of course) but Portman decided to make the scenes even worse.hayden chirurieureoiueroieu did the same shit.
their chemistry?oh gosh......cringeworthy
No, Portman can genuinely be a good actress (Black Swan), it's all about actors direction. When you're in front of green backgrounds and "on-set-God" (Lucas) is telling you how to act, you just feel like listening to the guy, no matter what. It's George fucking Lucas, career wise you'd record his farts on a talkie walkie. Even confirmed actors (Neeson, McGregor, etc) were acting bland. You're filming the next SW trilogy, you're not entitled to anything, you just follow the Master's orders. That's how Hollywood works. You want a career out of it. Eps 1-3 wise, I'll never blame actors, I blame poor writing, lame direction and bad appointment.

Lucas is one of the top lore creators out there, but he'll always struggle as a film director / writer. Everyone knows it in business. Kershner (Empire Strikes Back director) once said "working with Lucas is both a blessing and a curse : you learn so much creativity / design wise from the man you'd forget you're actually directing a movie". I have a lot of respect about Lucas works, but the man couldn't be a film director for shit.

I dunno. I could see 'Todd' doing well in the role. He clearly has some acting chops despite his goofy appearance and honestly the goofy appearance actually enhances his ability to do drama because you just don't expect much out of such a dopey-Opie Taylor expression.

What exactly will they do?? I am all for the idea of them playing a kind of mentoring/supporting/commander like role, but to have them as a lead role at thier age? I am not sure how I feel about "The Expendables, Stars Wars addition". I will of course be in line to buy a ticket but this should be interesting.

Leia and Han can give orders and fire blasters just fine. Luke can easily force throw bitches around at 62. I think this is indicative that the story could certainly be the New Republic hunting down the remnants of The Empire though. Crush those Warlords.

Meth Damon would make an awesome Jacen Solo. Imagine him evil as shit with robot parts. Makes sense.

Hugo Weaving as an imperial commander. That is win. Hugo Weaving as fucking Thrawn, now that would win everything, but alas, not to be.

I like the idea of having the heavy hitters taking charge for one last time, then transitioning into the background while the new generation takes over. Seems to me like a good way to play it.

Meth Damon lol. He could pull off Jace, have Jennifer Lawrence as Jaina, and Karl Urban as a Jedi Master. Hugo Weaving as Thrawn. All star cast right there to work on.

They definitely need to introduce some secret cabal of Sith that was in hiding because of the rule of 2. Because without Sith it's going to blow.

There had better be no main characters in the next Star Wars bellow the age of 18 period.
Its made by Disney, it will be a rehash of Ep1-3, beginning with children (ep7) and finishing with tweens (ep9). I'd love it if the upcoming Lore rework allows for the Timothy Zahn books to be canon.

I really always hated the rule of 2. It really doesn't add up for a group that's all about acquiring power and freedom from 'rules'.

Add my vote to Hugo Weaving as Thrawn.. it won't happen, but that'd be great.

Just please no Ewoks or Jar Jars...

Rule of 2, is that officially canon? They're getting together and wiping out most of the EU as canon.

But yes it is an idiotic rule because it just invites you to be wiped out of existence by freak accident or a bad run in with some Jedi. Then again every Sith seems to have broken that rule, so it is something of a moot point other than being useful to justify killing any other Sith you run across.

The rule of 2 was in the movies directly from Yoda's lips. I doubt the awful Darth Bane novel is considered that way, though.

The funny thing is as much as I disliked the SWTOR movies, that setting and storyline is ripe for some awesome movies, and the Bioware trailers were actually better than any of the prequels. Large Jedi vs Sith battles onscreen would be fun.. Far better than clones or bots...
