I work with a guy who is scary intelligent, I have literally never seen him not have the answer to a computer related question. His level of knowledge is pretty insane. And yet he has no common sense and doesn't know how to interact with people on a pretty basic level. It is sometimes shocking how out of touch he is with other humans.

You can actually try to demonstrate why you're right. Like...I get it why you wouldn't bother at this point. If I were in the position of being obviously fucking wrong and too dumb to spin my way to "victory" I probably wouldn't bother either (but I also wouldn't continue to embarrass myself by highlighting the fact with my crying).
