Eh - i have games, multi monitors, multiple browsers and apps going on a piddly 3600 - somehow i dont think it would be an issue on a 5600x - my plex server is also ran from the same system too.

I don't see it happening for quite some time, but this is a CPU most people will be running for 5 years or more. 5 years is the ass-end of the console cycle where developers will be needing to utilize every single one of those console cores in order to have shit run decently. This will spill over into AAA PC games

Steve (GN) mentioned that since the 5800X is kind of the odd-man out, it's likely to drop in price after the initial surge is done. It's just priced too high above the 5600X for gamers, and too close to the 5900X for workload people. I'd be willing to spend an extra $75 or so for 2 extra cores if it dropped down.
