i'd be down with a 3070 or 3080 at those prices, i wonder if there will be "Ti" models or if FEs are it
Damn, was hoping to upgrade from my 1080 to a 3080 but $800 is steep. Wonder if the 3070 will be a big improvement over a 1080. Or maybe the 3080's aftermarket cards will drop in the 600-700 range around the holidays.

$800 for a 3080 seems reasonable to me. 2070 and a 1080 are even? 3070 will definitely be a big improvement over a 1080. That's two generations man. I will wait for the Titanium's I think.

If that's real I'll get a 3080 the day EVGA puts out some cards.

Yea that's far more reasonable than I was expecting. I mean, still depends on specs and benchmarks, but if the 3080 comes in under 1k I'll be pleasantly surprised.

1080 was $600 at launch, and 1080ti was $700. 2080 was $700 at launch. 2080 Super was $700 at launch. $800 just seems a bit high to me.

Heres hoping my TX550M PSU can power these beasts, would suck to have to buy a new PSU with the prices on them today.

Yeah, I looked it up. Then I looked up the 1080ti (10 months after) and the 980ti (9 months later). So the 2080 was a bit of an exception from history.

They changed their naming on cards for the 2000 series.

The previous TI cards were a tick > tock kind of design, where they were just iterations of the card from last year, hence the time gap.

In the 2000 series they replaced the Titan with the 2080ti at launch, and had a regular 2080.

Then they made a 2080 Titan later that no one knows about or pays attention to because....reasons?

If it’s any consolation we think you’re a cunt already. No need to change your behavior.

That latest rumor seems like the most realistic yet based on past prices. I’m just ready for the damn announcement so I can stop reading all these damn rumors.

To be fair the Titan isn't really a consumer card

Maybe we’ll get hit with pricing for 30X0, PS5, and XSEX all on the same day and we can figure out how to budget then next two months.

Not like this is going to be available for the first 2-3 months it's released anyway.

I guess there was about a month lag between pricing and release for the 2080. In my head it was much closer together.

If there isn't any Crypto-bubble to blow the doors off the prices of these, then Nvidia is going to have to show value for these. Particularly when AMD is right around the corner with another potential giant-killer product that they might not take the performance crown with but might be willing to make a serious value play with. Maybe they don't get an all out win they are doing with Intel this time but perhaps they get close for 75% of the price. If I can, I am going to wait this time to see what BigNavi holds. Whatever they are going to call RDNA3.0 is where all bets are off as to who get the top spot.

As to people saying "burr like AMD is ever any good" has it really been that long since ATI was smoking nVidia, who went through a current-Intel-like doldrums of their own? 6xxx and 7970 was the bomb and their mid-range 4590? card was awesome too. AMD bought them and they then suffered their own period of tough times but its hard to be on top forever.
