I hear you, but I don't want to spend 1200 on a card, THEN have to try something I have never done before/void warranties just to make it fit.
Wouldn't you have to buy a larger power supply too? I'm hearing some of them requires a 850 watts one. That's another $100 on top of the $1200. So possibly looking at $1300. No thank you that's too much.

Holy fuck is this the true size? Not sure I can get this in my case because of the length. Would be bumping up against my radiator/fans.

iirc in this picture they arent properly scaled, so the 3000 series is slightly smaller than you see in this picture but its still a bigger than the 2080 shown.

To be fair, the 2080ti FE is quite a bit smaller than say, an ASUS Rog Strixx of the same card. The Rog Strixx versions aren't much smaller than that leaked 3090, just not nearly as fat. They are, however, long af.

I'll be hoping to snag a 3080 at launch, and suspect the power draw will be in the range of the 2080ti (in that case, a 650W PSU is more than enough). I also imagine a 750W PSU is plenty for the 3090 but we'll see.

Ya, my 2080 is definitely bigger than the FE cards. It's probable as long as the 3090 above but certainly not that thick.

LOL! 850 watts MINIMUM? I have zero desire to rewire my whole PC. Put a waterblock on my video card, and maybe need a new case.

I read that somewhere and they speculating it's needed for the 3090s. I'm sorry I just can't see myself paying that much for a video card. I took the money I was saving up and bought a good ass road bike so I can get outside some more. I'll stick with my 2070 super for now. I'll be able to play BG3 at highest settings easily with it.

I'll wait for the reveal but if I need a new psu and case on top of an already high price ill just pick up a 2080 super or a used Ti.

Yeah better wait for the reveal and the 3080 or whatever probably wouldn't need nearly as much and perform better/the same as a TI(price might be higher though). Just too many rumors about these cards, who knows what's true or not, just have to wait for Nvidia's official stuff and then(and that's just as important) the tests, since Nvidia tests are absolutely fucked to make the cards look better.

That 850w watt rumor is like 99% going to turn out to be the recommended, not the required, and all these shitty tech blogs are just reporting it wrong and/or people are reading it wrong.

There's bleeding edge, and bleeding out.
True. lol..... But honestly 20 years ago I wouldn't even think twice about spending top dollars for a video card. Back then I always had to have the best gaming PC even though I made waaaay less money. Now I make a good salary where I can afford a $1300 video card but refuse to pay that price. Now I'm just like if I can run it on high settings with good framerate I'm happy.

I'm still using a 980GTX, but it works for me since the only PC gaming I'm doing is Overwatch, ESO, FF14 and some RPG like Pathfinder or Divinity Original Sin.

Most likely not going to replace my PC when it dies at this point since I really no longer use it for gaming. Unless something that came out to make me rethink that, but no PC exclusive that I am aware off are coming that I'm interested in.

Dont remember the last sub 800w PSU ive bought - the only thing that sucks atm is this 12 pin connector but seems they will come with adapters for it.

Well to be fair many PSUs hit peak efficiency at 50% load. So if it’s for targeting ~450 W system load it isn’t that bad.

Exactly this. Why the hell are all you pussies whining about power supplies and crying that you might have to replace your 500w baby? If you hadn't been a cheap ass in the first place and gone with an appropriate wattage, you wouldn't be having this problem!

I have the strix 2080. Big ass card and it just fits into my case, which is bigger than most. I have a hard time believing that the 3080 will require major upgrades in other pc components. Not a great way to sell cards.

I have a 750 personally. I'm sure most would consider that WAY more than enough juice for a gaming rig with one video card. I mean I'm playing video games here, not launching a satellite!

I also care less about buying a new PSU. But Jesus on some sticks, I really didn't feel like rewiring my PC.
