I got a massive fucking tax return this week from the paid parental leave, around 3 full months salary. 3090 looking a lot more appealing now.

Work told us we'd all be getting compensated for our overtime work during Hurricane Laura. I've got like 90 hours or so extra. First time in 15 years I've ever heard as a salaried employee I'd be compensated for all the extra weekends and nights I put in. So maybe some extra scratch to throw around too.

Context? One company is moving forward (AMD) while the other company is going down the tubes (Intel). Stop choking on Intel's dick. Intel's shares hit $62 just before their announcement that their 7nm chips would be delayed until at the earliest late 2021. Now their shares are at $46 a share and going down. Their CEO is being forced to retire, and there's a lawsuit against the company for lying to their shareholders (I would know, since I'm a shareholder). But hey, if you think the company is so fucking great and everything is perfect, go ahead and buy up all the shares of Intel you want. I'll keep my shares of AMD, which I originally bought for $7/share.

You’re still missing the point, so let me break down it down for you:

- Neither Intel or AMD are your friend; they’re both just corporations motivated solely by money.
- Intel has extremely deep pockets, deep-rooted business partnerships and is still raking in cash hand over foot despite their issues with their 10nm process. They’re not going anywhere and will continue to be competitive. If it needs to, Intel can afford to compete on price while it’s development cycle gets reset.

I just told my wife my pc was acting strange and I might need to make some changes soon. She shrugged. My kid shrugged. The dog shrugged. We all laughed. Little does she know.... I've got like 3 pre orders on this shit from some pretty rando websites so we'll see how this all shakes out

Well I built t he PC with my trump bucks, so that convo was easy.

This one I just said I need this card and I already have a buyer for my 2070 Super - so I'm buying this. I honestly didn't really give much of a choice, it was more a courtesy.

Edit: That sounded really douchey how I wrote it. I simply just told her I needed to get this part and also I 'm selling another part to help fund it. We are doing pretty ok financially so it's not as stressful right now.

Really thinking about just getting the 3070, but the small difference in price it might just be better to underclock the 3080?
