since I got a 4090 that means 5000 series and maybe even 6000 series offer nothing. Unless some crazy AI feature is added which makes it almost mandatory to have

"UP TO 70% faster then the 4090!"

Sure....

But please continue with the marketing speak so my stocks soar to the moon.

There are just now monitors available that can push 4090 to the limit. 5090 is pointless atm

My 4090 definitely plays the shit out of everything on my 1440p OLED. I see no reason why I need a 4k monitor for gaming

Coulda fooled me, on my 4k 240hz monitor..l

I run 2x Neo G8 Odyssey's (4k / 240hz) and a 4090 with all the bells and whistles anyone could want in a gaming PC.

You 100% aren't running the majority of modern graphically intensive games at 4k at high/ultra with all the crap turned on and getting 240+ fps.

There are endless benchmarks with the 4090 for dozens of popular games that show this.

70% faster than the 4090!* ** *** ****

* With DLSS on at 8k resolution
** With raytracing, not with raster
*** For 85% higher MSRP
**** At tasks specifically devoted to rendering expensive leather jackets only

Ok I’ll rephrase then, I run every game in the world at 4k at reasonably good fps. All a 5090 would give me are more frames. I’m not a pro fps player, and if I was I’d just get a 1080 or 1440p monitor. With dlss available for a bunch of aaa releases this is all pointless, and most graphically intensive new launch aaa games suck.

besides that point, devs are still right now developing titles for ps5 and Xbox. What’s the point of a 5090.

If we take your subjective opinion aside.

Technology is going to continue regardless if other sectors lag behind.

This year and going forward we're going to see a lot of 4k @ 240hz and other very high refresh rate monitors released.

We as individuals just need to decide if the upgrade cost is worth it based on what we are doing with the PC.

I play pretty much all genre of games so if the card could truly hold or break the maxed settings @ 4k / 240hz threshold and I'm able to always get the best out of any single player game, fps, mmo, indie title etc. then I'd make the swap. If it's something like cyberpunk 2077 goes from 120 -> 180 fps then it'd be a hard pass and my monitors will just continue with unfulfilled potential.

=D

You aren’t getting anywhere near 120 fps in Cyberpunk at 4k and everything on ultra.
