Pretty much the same situation in EU atm, only thing that is in broad supply is AMD cards and 4060 variants. The intel B580 cards have some limited supply but they're going for €330-360 which is 10-20% over MSRP with tax included ($250 US MSRP).

The basic 4070 is still somewhat available too but prices are going up as supply dries up. Basically don't buy any card right now unless you feel comfortable overpaying.

lol gaming barely grew for the year, even with ridiculous prices and demand. Datacenter is carrying them hard. Its 88% of their revenue. Insane.

More reason why I dont think they care and knew about the RoP thing and power stuff for cards. Because demand shows gamers dont care and its a small % of their business. Bad press means nothing as long as people still buy.

9% growth in revenue is significant. I'm pretty sure most companies would celebrate a 9% increase. On the other hand, remember that we're in an inflationary period, so that 9% isn't necessarily 9%; welcome to the kind of fuckery that occurs when the government can print currency.

Intel GPUs haven't been stocked since the launch. They simply don't exist either.
More to the point:
1) Battlemage is only good value / dollar in the US, and questionable everywhere else.
2) Stocks are low to nonexistent as well.

If Battlemage was being sold close to / at a loss to build marketshare, it wouldn't be surprising if production isn't a priority at the moment for Intel given the sudden overall state of the company.

Frankly, given those problems, to say nothing of future driver support, I would honestly wait to see what the low end AMD ends up at before I grabbed a Battlemage, if you can even find one.

They’d actually have to produce some too, though. $600 doesn’t mean squat if there’s only 4 to buy in the entirety of North America and 6 in Europe.

Said that a while ago. Consumer market exists now merely to stroke the ego of Jensen and others.
Psychology experiment. They want to see how much people are willing to pay for some +betterer fpses. RTX 6090 will cost $7500, and they have bets on if people will still buy it at that price.

For mass market acceptance it has to be on par or better fps/dollar than the previous generation. If they aim too high for the sun they won’t be able to sell more than a few thousand of them. But that doesn’t matter when enterprise sales are already far more profitable than a 3x cost consumer GPU. The incentives simply aren’t there for them to give a shit anymore.

My hopes aren’t high, so I bet AMD fucks up this launch. It’s just a year for fuckups in GPUs. I hope I’m wrong.

AMD is so fucking stupid it hurts. Their consistent $50 gap is card pricing every generation is so mind-bogglingly stupid and counterproductive that it has to be an intentional saboteur in the Radeon marketing department.

Board partners are going to price at whatever they want anyway.

I think 540 and 600 are about as good as it was going to get. I really thought they were going to go for 650-700. If they review well, then I’ll get one.
