Thoughts on that bad boy?
I bought the 27" 1440p model in January for my new PC build and I love it. I haven't turned my PS5 on since then.

The MAG series is the budget version and its the one I went with. I didn't see reason to spend more for features I wasn't going to use or see.

For anyone that cares, I went from the 3080ti, 32Gigs mem and 58003dx to 5080, 64gigs, 98003dx.

Monster hunter went from 40-45FPS to 90+FPS

Warhammer Space Marine went from 100FPS to like 175FPS.

Not sure whether it's proc or vid card, but damn that's a hella bump in FPS for those two games.

I went from a 5800x - 7900xtx
To a 9800x3d - 9070xt

And the gains were substantial at 4k 144hz. No more sub 60fps and dips with most games at full tilt (helldivers 2, darktide, hell let loose, bf1).

Helldivers 2 might be the best looking game I've ever seen.

I started doing some more research on the 4k OLED's and am seeing one notable difference between price ranges is the 2.1 display port which gives a substantial amount more bandwidth than HDMI 2.1 at 80 Gb. I think for now I may hold off because I can have a dual case scenario. I do not want to pay $1299 for a 32" OLED for 240 Hz over display port. I am, however, running into an issue on my initial home theater set up. I am running HDMI 2.1 full circle with a Denon X2800H receiver. Port 6 - 8k enhanced enabled on the port - able to select 120hz but it is * Not * passing through VRR. From what I am reading it is an issue with the receiver, and really the only way to resolve would be to run eArc.

So I think what I will try next is just run eArc from the OLED 65" C2 back to the receiver to maintain 120hz with VRR (Which also passes Dolby Atmos). Everything else works fantastic - just the VRR component wasn't showing. So really all I need to do is move my HDMI 2.1 cable from the receiver to the TV, eArc back to the receiver and everything should be fine.

Have my Xbox Wireless Controller bluetooth connected, big picture mode in Steam is fucking awesome - and just select games there. Have my wireless Arctis 7 I can bring along for the ride - Or I also have a Nova Pro Wireless for my 2 consoles I could just use with my PC and shrink down to one headset too.

I bought a 43' Asus XG438QR last year for a nice 700 USD (usually they are around 1K) but went back to my 34' Asus after a week. The 43' was too large on a desktop with me sitting directly in front of it on my chair. Especially gaming I felt like front now tennis court not having everything in sight without turning my head. Was really, really annyoing an exhausting also my eye sight is not what it used to be and I struggled with small fonts in 4K but 43' in 1440p was also very shitty looking.
You can change scaling, etc in Windows to accomodate; I think I run 125% now (It's System|Display|Scaling), with a large mouse pointer now as my eyes have aged as well. I have been using TVs as monitors since 2007-8? I got a South Korean 38" 4K TV to use as a monitor; technically the only difference between a TV and a monitor is a monitor doesn't have speakers; obviously consumer TVs and PC monitors for the longest time and even today tend to have different specs and are made for different viewing distances but as the switch has been made to fully digital devices and consoles drove convergence between the use cases, they were easier to get. In fact now, 43" TVs are rare bordering on extinct, and 43" monitors haven't made the jump up yet. For me its a much more Border to border experience without the need to do what was once the holy grail of PC gaming, 3 vertical 27 monitors.

If you would give it a little more time, I think you would adapt to the 43. These panels are never going to look good at anything other than their native resolution, though. Its super easy to upscale most elements to fit your needs.

I was going to just move my 7900XTX over and wait a generation but there is something in the hardware of the 9070XT, I can't recall at the moment that allows them to do a much higher compute for FSR 4 ? like integer 8 something something? forgive my laziness. Anyway, its close enough that I thought if I could get a 9070XT I would just leave this PC intact and build a whole new one, and keep my streak of getting a new card from every generation going.

I typically would have done the same thing but I have a sim rig and wanted a stand alone PC for it so I didn't have to keep it chained to the desk basically. I didn't even intend on buying a new PC, I just walked into Microcenter and they were putting the cards on the shelf while there was a line of nerds outside waiting on them. I asked if I could have one and they gave it to me, so I went HAM.

a 5080 for $999 is not terrible. A 5080 for the same price as a 4090 is a damn monopolist ripoff, and I look forward to their glorious downfall.
They simply don’t care, printing more money than god can manufacture off of enterprise GPU sales still.

Except Nvidia shorted some cards of ROPs, some cards are melting cables, and their performance is pretty abysmal over last gen.

The 5070 is even funnier '4090 performance" with fake and gay frames per second (FGFPS)

What an absolute joke of a generation. Anyone buying Nvidia now is delusional and retarded
it's a good thing they fucked up so badly this generation, it really helps open the gpu market for intel's entry. Nvidia is working on CPUs and intel's fuck up this generation might help them enter that market. This generation is all round garbage, but the future is looking good with lots of competition all around.
