I just got done binge watching a bunch of fan made shit which I'm sure was leagues above this. Whoever played Maul in this nailed it, considering he has no dialogue.

The helmet is "out of era" which should technically matter for ANH continuity, but....

"Looks like Vader to me"

i honestly never looked that closely at Vader's costume to notice those differences. that being said, if you are in the prop or wardrobe department, then your job is getting the costume accurate. how you get RotJ features on a pre-ANH costume is pretty dumb. all you needed to do was look at ANH and duplicate that costume. how would you even take those later pieces into account by accident? it must have been done intentionally as an Easter Egg culminating the OT Vader as an homage. if not, then thats an odd set of errors

Close enough right? Looks like Vader to me. It's not a former multi billion dollar IP or anything.

Obviously the people doing the costumes had no idea that Vader's suit changes. Honestly it changed for technical reasons behind the scenes, not because of lore, so it's a mistake, but only the kind of mistake that someone who doesn't live and breath star wars would make.

As far as I'm concerned, Vader's suit being out of era is one of the LEAST offensive issues with the show

The suit design being a miss because they didn't hire Star Wars costume experts is just the icing on the cake.

The takeaway is they didn't care enough, it just had to be close enough. Including the plot. Looks like Obi-wan to me.

Yea, it being wrong isn’t really that big a deal to me, it just shows how offensively lazy they are. If my job were to make a Vader suit, which is literally one of the most iconic things in the series, I’d get it right.

i dunno if thats even being lazy. its simply not an accident to get 3 different era costumes mixed together like that. an accident would be having the entire costiume from RotJ or even say Rogue1. they used bits and bobs from all three OT movies. either they did it that way as an homage or they outsourced the costume from some third party costume retailer that has those pieces manufactured and doesnt care about accuracy because why would they?

that's obviously what they did. that's how stuff like this is made. you get one person to make gloves, another person to make boots, another person to make the chest piece. there just wasn't enough oversight to say "make sure you are looking at ANH's vader when you build this stuff." some people payed attention, others didn't and at the end of the project they just put it all in one frankestein's vader.

but you see, Disney is famous for their props and costumes being high end quality. if they didnt even manufacture Vader's costume in house. then Disney has a lot more problems than they are letting on.

Last Episode was major Meh. I was loving it up until this one. I think they are way overplaying obi-wans rustiness with the force, wouldn't he have been keeping up skills in his cave hideout to protect luke, as he said "that was his assignment" it just doesn't make sense.

Hoping they end it well but this was meh after the Vader showdown.

the homework was included in the opening prequel montage, so they'll probably feature it in the finale.

And re his force proficiency, in ANH Owen refers to him as a "wizard", so he must have some reason to have such a reputation

This Vader suit stuff is the most tedious bullshit I've ever read, this is autistic fan wiki editor tier nitpicking.

How about he just has multiple helms, multiple gloves, multiple arm attachments etc and rotates them as they suffer damage and need repairs?

well, he only fought 2 people hand to hand and neither Luke or OB1 ever jammed their lightsaber up Vader's nutsack. yet he has various codpieces. as nerdy and nitpicky as this is, its fucking stupid to make Vader a hodgepodge of the different Vader costumes from the OT.
Frankenvader what?
2 episodes left and OB1 hasnt done one fucking thing to protect Luke. i was wondering earlier that perhaps OB1 never had any intentions of keeping Luke safe, but was just the old kook neighbor the Skywalkers had across the desert. because whatever his purpose is, he's complete shit at it.
