I'm out of this thread.
I'm going to give you some real advice: If you feel the compulsion to post your RL pics in a thread as part of some sort of response to an argument, don't. Just abandon the thread at that point.

This is one of the best threads we have had yet. Wooly, please don't go. This is just getting good!

Soygen he tried. It's my fault.

This... I regret posting my pics in the Wizardhawk VS Camerous fight thread sort of kinda.

PS: Wooly, if you are better than everyone except Phil Ivey then you should probably be making a lot more than $83 on casino days... (Play 30k pots online but you play 1-2 with the min buy-in live??? Lol)

I would love to play some people here in a fun game of poker. I do not want to have an ante of $50,000 or whatever Wooly does between 11pm and 7am in his dreams until he wakes up and leaves his one bedroom studio halfway house with a community porch to continue his career in hawking Asian blankets on a street corner in New Orleans.... But something along the lines of $100 or so and just have fun and drink.

Bandwagon, read the 2+2 thread about the call with Q high before you question my knowledge of the game.
No. My version of bragging about poker is saying that I've played enough to not want to read about hands. From anyone, including you @Woolygimp

But let's talk about you for a second. Do you not realize that the main reason you get so much shit on this forum is because of your patronizing attitude, not your knowledge or lack of knowledge? You're constantly trying to assert your knowledge on one topic or another and you think that you're debating that with other people on the forums, but really you're just getting heckled because ANY interaction with you is unpleasant. You can't get to the point where you're actually debating with people because you just come across as being unlikable.

I'm really not trying to be insulting right now, but I find it really hard to believe that you don't have aspergers. Picking up on social cues is more or less second nature to most people, and you seem to lack that trait, and it's something you need to work on.
I'd like to say that you're just an arrogant fucking moron (probably will in the future anyways), but I've seen you be friendly and humble and I've seen you prove some semblance of intelligence on rare occasions....but it's impossible to argue with you because you don't pick up on inferred points. You can take this as an insult if you want, but it's really meant to be constructive. I've worked with two guys with aspergers before and I almost fired both of them multiple times. The only reason I didn't is because I finally realized that I just need to be direct and specific and tell them where they are fucking up (with social interactions), and they ended up being great employees.

I don't believe that you're some poker prodigy because 1.) I haven't seen it and 2.) I know a lot of stereotypes just like you, but I do believe that you have a lot of poker knowledge and that you're probably a good player.

Now stop trying to give examples of how awesome you are at poker. When you win two bracelets, I'll ask for your autograph.

You really can't have a good poker game without something on the line. I'd be up for at least a $20+ game, but it's kind of pointless to play for fake money only. Too many antics when people don't care about winning or losing.

While saving Wooly's quote here as my signature I noticed that he double spaces after periods. What a nut job.

I think sealswithclubs is still around. It used to be the shit until they got raided, but at one point they'd have 500ish people online with multiple cash games going. I made several thousand from that site (mostly due to BTC sky rocketing and not so much my superstar poker skills).

Tournament hold 'em is cracked math. Anyone who claims they win tournaments because of skills is full of shit. It's come back around full circle to relying on luck once again because every kid out there know's how to play a tournament for maximum success.

Cash games on the other hand are a different beast. Sure you can collect hand history and do the math on what type of player they are and it probably works for most of the fish. For me though, I love shifting my play style up often. Starting out playing like a nit folding to a few 3 bets, hopefully getting a monster to play weakly early on so I can show it down and then flipping it and getting really loose for a few orbits and generally just keeping people guessing.

Winning a tournament does not prove skill....winning multiple large field tournaments does. To me, the difference is that you need to rely on reads (mainly betting patterns, not nose twitches) to survive and thrive over time in tournaments. You have to stay alive to win. Of course there is a lot to do with luck and chance, but you can't negate those highs and lows in tournaments like you can in cash games.

The reason I find grinding cash games so boring is because you play them hand by hand. If you just play your chance to hit and pot odds every hand, you're going to end up coming out ahead if you play cards long enough. The discipline is recognizing your own tilt.

I still use % to hit (literally the same quick calc that wooly described) and pot odds to make decisions in tournaments, but I don't live & die by them like I do in cash games. The other person's chip stack also plays a much bigger part in my decisions in tournaments than it does in cash games.

Yeah, there are definitely differences between ring games and tournaments. In a ring game you're happy betting small edges as longterm this is good. But in a tournament it's different since your tournament life or eliminating other players can be involved. I did mostly ring games as income for years, and only dabbled in tournaments since there's much higher variance.
