Ideally you'll be playing equally skilled playersGame is a riot, but I feel like once the player base levels up and the real autists for tracer/genji start to come out of the woodwork I'll be having a lot less fun.

I mean yea, I'm sure there is matchmaking of some kind out there, but I like playing Widow and even a moderately played Genji mostly ruins my life no matter how good I am at her.Ideally you'll be playing equally skilled players
I find S-76, Lucio, and Reinhard or Roadhog to be pretty decent for those of us older and slower. Don't need pinpoint accuracy with any of them, good distance on shots, have some escape talents, and Lucio and S76 move fast enough that you can escape sometimes. Stuff like Widowmaker or Tracer or Mei just require too fast reflexes for me to ever feel decent with them. I can do ok with the Texas ranger guy since his range is good, whereas I usually get destroyed as Reaper since he is a close range combat guy.I'm getting old. The game play is waaaaay too fast for my reflexes.
It was such a huge problem in TF2 and now it's transferred into this game as well. Almost every KOTH game I play the point gets converted to the other team at 99%. It's not even just me either, watching people play KOTH they always push at 99%. It's kind of bizarre actually, I almost want to believe there's some weird mechanic when the cap gets to 99% but I know that's not real, it's just people waiting until the last milisecond to push lolThis game would be more fun if so many people weren't suffering from acute objective sensitivity. That's the only logical reason I can conceive as to why people, who presumably have played a game before, avoid the objective like it is plagued.
There is a mechanic that increases energy, damage, ultimate cooldowns towards the end of a match to ramp up the tension. I noticed the same phenomenon too, but if you watch the meter under your health bar, it reacts much more towards the end of a game than the beginning. It was such a huge problem in TF2 and now it's transferred into this game as well. The meter under the HP bar is your "on fire" meter, according to Seagull. There is a mechanic that increases energy, damage, ultimate cooldowns towards the end of a match to ramp up the tension. I was having a lot of fun with him tonight. I like that he's sort of a hybrid support character in that you heal your team but you don't have to focus on your team so much (like Mercy) that you really can't go on the offense unless absolutely necessary. I'd also add that that instant toggle thing from the video posted made a huge difference in how he plays. He's also really entertaining on maps where you can throw people off cliffs. If you have time though I'd try Lucio, I really find a great groove with him usually. Just run around like crazy with heal mode on, its an aura for people near you so you just heal (supercharge it every CD) and pew pew while moving fast as a bug. Since most people don't wanna play a healer its pretty easy to always have him or Reinhart, a fun tank thats really mostly 1 button (shield) with the occasional rocket and dash.
I have yet to play a team-based FPS where people don't treat every single map as a deathmatch. Hopefully, as people learn the game more, they'll figure out the requirements for victory. But, so far, it's amazing how many fights I've just walked the payload in all by myself with no one on the enemy team even bothering to try to stop me.This game would be more fun if so many people weren't suffering from acute objective sensitivity. That's the only logical reason I can conceive as to why people, who presumably have played a game before, avoid the objective like it is plagued.
Some of this is due to crashes. I routinely crash to desktop about every 15 minutes despite having mid/high end gear and updated drivers, etc. They could also improve the game if they stopped this people leaving after 30 seconds cause things aren't going well shit. It's a domino effect that causes even more people to leave. Right now you can just quit the match and re-queue in 1 second. Make it where it puts you right back where you were or a penalty.
Open Beta was extended an additional day, just so you knowGlad the beta is over
Roadhog is by far my favorite champion. I have like 8 hours on him already. Playstyle is totally to move in, hook someone, do some damage/kill them then run away and heal. Rinse repeat. Preferably pick off supports like Mercy/Zenyatta/Lucio. Even Tracer/Reaper/McCreeRoadhog is the old peoples champ. Just lob shit everywhere and fool people into thinking you have skills. My success with Genji is taking advantage of noobs with deflect and pure fucking luck.
