So yea, the earlier info seems accurate. $40 for base, $60 for origin.
He did say "when you buy Overwatch you get all maps/21 heroes..... " and then said you could also buy the Origin edition.

That seems like a quite high price for the base game I think. I mean, it's not really and I'll buy it, but I expected something like 20bucks instead and the collector edition to have more shit than what they had shown.
Also yeah from the wording, they will sell heroes and maps, on top of cosmetics. That sounds like super greedy. The base box is cheaper than if they went with a F2P system and hero buying since 21heroes would generally be 80-100$ at most common rates, but also creates a higher barrier of entry later on where you have to buy both the 21 first heroes and then whatever heroes you want, unless they also have a way to earn ingame currency to buy heroes, which considering it's not F2P, isn't guaranteed?
Seems kinda curious.
Looking forward to the new heroes though. Well mostly D-va, Mei looks kinda meh though I'll try her the wall looks hilarious and Genji looks cool but it also looks like I'd need to learn how to play well to actually use him decently. What I'm not looking forward to is when they add these heroes, especially Genji. 4-5genji on both teams every game, zzz.

Thats annoying now that I've pre-purchased Overwatch it is on my account management page so I can't just quickly see if it is there for beta wave days
