I'm sure that these people donating hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars to streamers are all poor people living in studio apartments. /s

You know, some people have lives, whether it be involving jobs, careers, education, relationships, etc. Watching streams is a good way for them to enjoy their passion of gaming while not having to commit the time. They don't all have time to level an Enchanter to 60 on EverQuest in 2016 and make 10000 posts on an elf simulator forum like you.

It's funny that you're trying to argue that people that watch streams are only neckbeards. I'd argue that the neckbeards are actually gaming, like yourself.
I don't really game bro. Sorry to disappoint

I don't really understand how it's any different than watching random people play professional sports. By the same logic, why watch them on tv instead of just going outside and playing?
Good thing I don't watch sports really either

They're playing at a different level than most of us (well, okay, all of us) play at. I'm not saying "don't watch people play games", I'm saying "why watch some random nobody play games". If you're gonna watch something, why not check out competitive leagues or something where you're watching something you can't actually do?

Anyway, since this is grossly OT, back to your regularly scheduled shilling. I mean, programming. I mean, lowered expectations.

I definitely get where you're coming from. Some people watch for competitive/eSports, some watch for entertainment. CohhCarnage would fall in the latter. In fact, the biggest streamers are typically those that are entertaining over top notch players. However, if you're a skilled/competitive/professional gamer streaming a popular game (such as LoL, DotA, CS, Overwatch, etc) and are also entertaining, informative, etc? You have the right formula to be a very wealthy person.

cohhcarnage Twitch Stats Summary Profile ( Social Blade Twitch Statistics )

42nd for followers on Twitch, 90th for channel views. 687,943 followers, 46,243,733 channel views.

Makes around $50k a month (lowball guesstimate) playing games you talk about on internet forums.

My guess he is more wealthy and well known than you will ever be.

Twitch Viewer Bot - Get popular now!

Those numbers are all meaningless in a world where they all more than likely inflate their numbers via bots.

No one uses bots until they get caught using bots.
rofl bro, people that viewbot are like mostly retarded meatheads streaming call of duty with 1000 bitrate, a tornado microphone and no webcam with a dead or botted chat, no donations, subs, etc. The tryhard ones often get ousted or at least a lot of accusations (it's easy to tell if they are).

Even if Cohh botted, he has a very, very successful streaming product. He would have gotten big either way. That's ignoring the fact he's considered one of the cleanest streamers, has Twitch employees in his chat daily, is endorsed by Twitch, does events for Twitch, and never had any viewbot crusade against him.

Why would he risk his entirely livelihood (6-7 figures/yr) for literally no gain? Maybe if it actually mattered what game he streamed, like he needed to be #1 Hearthstone streamer or something. But he can stream any game and be #1 at it.

In any case, take off the tinfoil hat. Some people are just good at what they do.

He's not just some random streamer, he has one of the biggest followings on Twitch and quite a substantial subscriber count on YouTube. Yeah, if you're not a fan of him (I'm not either) it's pretty random and not as interesting as someone else would be. But for spreading the word about the game, he is a "go to" industry favorite. Smart move by Visionary Realms.

I have listened to some of his other sponsored content before (Camelot Unchained, Hero's Song) and he actually does a pretty good job. Even showing off the disaster that was Camelot Unchained.

My impression of streamers is that they're catering to an audience not interested in Pantheon, but I could be wrong.
The kind of people who might be interested in Pantheon will most likely won't be watching someone who streams games like Dishonored and Final Fantasy 15.
