Tuco gives people random avatars sometimes. I believe Tuco played a joke that just paid off. Khane thought he got a cool Bernie Mac like black dude, and instead he's a tranny.
If it was a trick he did it well, because I asked him who it was and he linked to some style forum or blog about the dude and how he's some kind of men's hair guru

Tuco! You duped me! You bastard!

Tuco gave me this avatar because the "dudes" name is supposedly Khane Kutzwell. Was just a random thing... or so I thought...

The challenge is figuring out how to reach the (mostly younger) Dark Souls, etc. audience. Any ideas?
Neogaf, massively, mmorpg, reddit, SA, gamespot and then the millions of smaller sites. I would just google "Dark Souls Forums" on google and start posting. However you'll be dealing with a lot of console people.

I would also attempt to contact all the other popular kickstarters and see if they wouldn't mind supporting you by shooting out an update with a link to your KS page. This is actually an important thing. Kickstarter people are apparently a very tight community and want to help each other out. I would attempt this first because you're getting in contact with potentially people who already are used to backing people.

I would also google "Kickstarter forums" or discussion or whatever other words and find online groups discussing kickstarters and cherry pick good places to chime in.

The main problem with this kickstarter (Other than being so amateurly done) is it is so backwards. Brad has stated multiple times that $800k is only going to prove (To who no one knows...hopefully a publisher?) that there is some interest in this type of game. He has alluded that he "thinks" a MMO could still be made for around 8 million. The furthest Stretch goal is 6.7 million. So basically, he's guessing they can't actually make this game unless they get ~7 million...which would hit every stretch goal. That means theyaren'tstretch goals, they are core features of the game.

The whole thing doesn't really make any sense to me, every Kickstarter I've seen would put their base at 6.7 million, then stretch goals beyond that. Maybe there are some like that, I don't get too involved with Kickstarter, but it really doesn't make sense to me.

Draegan's idea about hitting up some of the other KS dev's and looking for support by them mentioning you and vice versa is a good idea. There's a lot of that overall as the more KS's that give funded the more it helps all of them.

And on the stretch goals , while they aren't perfect , I don't see them as "necessary" to launch. I'm a PVP whore , but don't think this has to launch with it. I'd love to be playing a bard on another continent in alpha but none of these are things that "must" be in to have an mmo. As far as PVP goes , I'd rather it be 100% setup for PVE , and if the funds are there eventually a PVP server setup with very little changes other than is it FFA , faction based , etc. Other than that flip the PVP switch and be done. But again , many of those goals could be added later , be it content patches or expansions.

I don't see them as anything it "must" have thus Brad is really lying about them as stretch goals.

You contact them now, and have them help you out in the last week of the kickstarter. Don't have them do anything now.

Well, what happens if he cannot crowdfund beyond one of these goals? Then at that point he's relying on publisher money or not having it in there. I'm not into PvP, but I know plenty are and if your going into alpha beta knowing you probably are not going to launch with that aspect of the game, no matter how minimal it is, you've already handicapped your game from a sizable amount of players. Same thing with something like the monk. Yes it not required, but what if that's what their EQ experience consisted of? Another subset of players you were reaching too, possibly lost.

Meh... What are the stretch goal classes? Ranger, Bard, Monk, and Druid? IMO all 'unnecessary' classes, and actually make sense as stretch goals. Put dev time into the meat & potatoes classes and add flavour if/when you get more money.

Bards should never have existed. Their abilities could have been rolled into other classes (magician, paladin) to strengthen them, rather than creating a 'jack of all trades' class. Same story with Druids, whose only real defining ability was snare. Rangers? What makes them a necessary class? A bow? Couldn't the assassin class just have a skill tree for bow combat and tracking? Unnecessary flavour class - get it the fuck out in the interests of streamlining development. Speaking of unnecessary flavour classes... Monk. Unless FD splitting is in, the only reason for a monk (unless it's an avoidance based tank) is so people can see cool karate moves.

So you're telling me they are trying to finagle money out of us for no apparent use? You are literally saying they are lying to us about their KS goals and that they are utilizing shady business practices.
I can never tell if you're being intentionally obtuse to bait people into arguments, or just don't take the time to research before you troll. Either way, it's not very effective.

They've stated several times the stretch goals are not only to motivate people, but they feel if they crowd-fund to those goals they can meet those goals at release. If they don't get to those funding goals, they'll try to get all that stuff in by release, but will probably have to save some of the stuff for post-launch, and the stuff that does get in might not be as deep, complex, or as on point with what the community wants. Meet the goals, they feel they can deliver those features, and for the features like crafting, feel they'll be in a better position to let the community who funded the goal dictate, to some extent, what style of crafting should be put in.

The 45.00 alpha tier has sold out , making it a limited number helped push it.

Need to change that 55 dollar tier now that includes alpha to be limited to 500/1000 or whatever. Let it sell out then put in a new 60 dollar tier with around the same. Making the lower level ones limited somewhat works to get them bought and sold out.

Nah, it's just a varying take on what "stretch goal" actually means. You guys have your opinion. I have mine. There is no baiting or trolling. We just have fundamental differences of opinion. And it's already been stated, noone knows exactly what the plan is. It's all conjecture and "what ifs". I just like to debate.

agree...and for the 100th time...please look at the $500+ tiers.
