A fucking update should show that your actively working on the game. Make a video showing us a developer working on a zone, or an artist drawing a character, or something that actually means someone is working on this thing. That is does exist. You can't say, "I'm making a niche game in the same vein as Everquest and Vanguard for hardcore gamers", then spend a week explaining to us that a cleric fucking heals and a tank uses a sword. No fucking shit, we know this already. These updates fucking suck. Its pissing me off how bad this is. Your actually seeing followers discuss massively reducing our pledges and in fact my wife and I were discussing it last night. Fail.

Dreadnought
Dreadlord
Deathsword
Boneknight
Darkblade
Bloodknight
Knight of Dusk

Any of those would have worked better, IMO. My guess is the pop culture reference is intentional.

Some of the KS posters seem to forget the fucking fact they are posting on an unfunded project with the clock ticking , not closed beta forums for a game that's in production.

"LEAVE THEM ALONE, THEY CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING LATER, IT'S EARLY" seems to be the mantra now on there.
I love the comments on the Dark Knight Icon. These people need help.

MMORPG developers learning they cannot bullshit people when it comes to their wallets like they can to publishers.

What a glorious day.

So basically what you are saying is that by helping to spread the word you've created a monster.

Let's keep giving them better names. Pretty much every name suggested here is better.

Ebonknight
Obsidian Knight

Muligan

I'm not even going to chance reading the KS comments. I'll probably end up freaking out on someone.

Seriously considering dropping from 250 to 45. If they can prove they can get in gear and out of amateur hour I'll gladly bump it back up , and even higher if it warrants it.

These guys aren't looking to reinvent the wheel. It doesn't matter if they call it Dark Knight, Shadow Knight, Dread Knight, Black Knight, or Evil Undead Knight Guy. There's a finite amount of ways to say basically the same thing. Yeah, I'm not thrilled with the name, but if the game comes out and it's fun, no one will give a shit, I assure you.

When I first picked up EQ I found the names and superficial lore to be some of the most generic shit I had ever seen. Just the name of the game- Everquest- was enough to make me think twice. Add to that names that were so uninspired they were simply anagrams of real world things: Qeynos (Sony EQ), E'ci (ice), Tarew (water), etc etc. But over time, the original inspirations for those names became less important because the world was cohesive enough to lend those places and things an entirely new identity of their own.

You picked up EQ because it was a fucking made game. Funded by a company.

Every little stupid thing they do right now is less of a chance of it getting made.

It matters.

He's pissed Brad never messaged him

Advisor's Pledge has 25 slots and all are taken. What you talking about?
Oops! Confused those minimal 25/25 with the $250's which have 2,000 of them.

Can we have the Dark Knight look like a ghost of Captain Edward Smith before this goes offline? That would be appropriate.

That guy is spot on, honestly.

Rather than explain what kind of mechanics they intend to implement, they instead just name drop EverQuest and Vanguard to get to the point. That's fine and all, but it's expecting your audience to be in the know. However, if you do that, you really can't go releasing class introductions like this for generic-ass fluff descriptions of what they do if they aren't any different in your game than one would expect.

Imagining the thought process (or lack thereof) that went behind posting those postings is kind of frustrating.
