Yea I'm not fond of the names either, but what can you do. I hope it's noted and future names for places get sound more fitting for the rest of the game, until we arrive at Pixxt Qui Wat some 6 years after release.i know this is nit picking, but is there anyone else besides me that's not enamored with the name of the game? i think pantheon by itself isn't horrible, but rise of the fallen makes it sound like it's a viagra pill.
You're talking about the name here right? This isnt an implication of WoW and/or their latest expansion sucks? Because I'd say the classic "Game name : this of that" is pretty good.I'd rather have the name of this game I support over: World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria...just saying.
Sure me too, just have to wait for their once a week meeting...I would love to be a fly on the wall at the VR office... or wherever they get together.
You pull the money to show your displeasure at whatever they may be doing. You pull it now because at this point they still need to be responsive to their investors so if people are running in droves they will be forced to respond. By waiting till the last day to pull it doesn't really matter anymore, by that time they're either funded or not and your pledge no longer has an impact. Also if you have a massive drop off on the last day you're not giving them a chance to respond and correct the problem in time.Pulling out early (while great for girlfriend) can send the wrong message to players who don't follow this forums, and they may not pledge due to the ever changing total. (Which is more noticeable at a lower level)
Someone on the kickstarter actually brought up a great point. Honestly, people just inevitably shorten the class names anyway (if applicable) like: Death Knight to DK or Dark Knight to DK in this case. I can't honestly remember a single time in wow where anyone was like "we need a death knight!". It was always, "We need a dk."Why didn't they just call the class Blackguard.
Blood Knight
Dreadguard
Black Knight
not investors.at this point they still need to be responsive to their investors

being a minor league entrepreneur and business owner I know that nobody likes to fund their own projects, especially once you've had past success...If Brad & team have the passion and ambition and really believe in this thing, it will get done.
I'm with Quaid on this.It makes sense, but is misguided.
As of now, they don't deserve to get more pledges from other gamers. They have next to nothing to show of Pantheon, and what they have mocked up, is beyond unacceptable.
It was based on a reply to someone else, had nothing to do with the game itself, just the name. I personally didn't like wow's expansion name, but I know some people did. Meh.Yea I'm not fond of the names either, but what can you do. I hope it's noted and future names for places get sound more fitting for the rest of the game, until we arrive at Pixxt Qui Wat some 6 years after release.

What makes you think he isn't throwing in his own money? I don't think they intend to fund it 100% on Kickstarter, either.being a minor league entrepreneur and business owner I know that nobody likes to fund their own projects, especially once you've had past success...
but why wouldn't Brad throw some skin in the game and put his money where his vision is?
the game does not have to be 100% funded by kickstarter alone. Many successful independent game studios have supplemented their development budget with seed money from angel investors and even VCs. True, at that point they are no longer truly "independent", but it's still a far cry from bringing in the major publishing houses that have executive'd games to death in the past.
That makes sense of course...but I believe people have an inflated view of what their pledge really impacts. You pull the money to show your displeasure at whatever they may be doing. You pull it now because at this point they still need to be responsive to their investors so if people are running in droves they will be forced to respond. I know... how many times do I have to ask what is so hard about this point and why it actually matters? This is getting as bad as the KS comments.IT IS NOT ABOUT THE GOD DAMN NAME JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
I was replying to what he said....calm down..."breathe...it will be ok."IT IS NOT ABOUT THE GOD DAMN NAME JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
the swastika was around before the Nazi party tooYou do realize that Dark Knight has been around long before the batman movie right? I mean hell, Cecil one of the most loved characters ever from Final Fantasy IV was a Dark Knight...you'd think old timers would know these kinds of things...apparently not.
Good one, I feel this might become a classic here.
While it's beating a dead horse for sure, the fact that the effort that went into the KS just doesnt suffice can be beaten a bit. Simply because they thought it would fly off the shelves with no further effort as presented, while anyone here could've told them "fuck no, needs polish and facts". Consider it a reality check and it's scary that one is needed.Did you just take over for UT? Again, how many times are you going to repeat the same old tired argument? Yes, like you've been repeating about 14 times a day, we get it.
I dont think they would lose many pledges with a reboot, simply because everyone that pledged wants what they are promising and not what they presented (which isnt much). I'd guess very few neutral or on the fence people were swayed by the KS. I do like the corrections to the KS but it cost them the day 1 burst.Still looking for this project to hit its goal...that being said,
It would be wise to get together with the team (and/or us) and start planning alternate route.
Example: If the project does not hit it's goal, the good news is many of us will not care and still re-pledge. Take 30-60 days between and relaunch with the mistakes corrected from before and a lower goal (Maybe 500k)..stating that this is "phase one" of the company building process. (Theykey is to get the minimum needed to begin and this will keep the word circulating.)
Just an example, but as I posted on another site...it is wise to always have a plan B.
You're right in that a single pledge means nothing but look at what's happening today. This isn't something he can just ignore because the 'vision' demands it. You HAVE to pander to these people or you don't have a project. That makes sense of course...but I believe people have an inflated view of what their pledge really impacts.
Meaning, if Brad agrees to the views he will change them..if he doesn't he wont. I doubt if he will compromise too much due to some pledge running.
