There's zero reason to think that. The most likely scenario is PC Gamer fell behind their timeline writing up the article. That's it.I'm starting to think either PC Gamer is trolling Brad or Brad is lying about this 'big reveal' in PC Gamer.
Maybe PC gamer looked at the content of their article and said this is a piece of shit just like the kickstarter campaign and decided not to run with it.I'm starting to think either PC Gamer is trolling Brad or Brad is lying about this 'big reveal' in PC Gamer.
I think at this point funding it will send the wrong message. It would basically tell him that he can throw whatever shit he wants at the wall and it will stick. Well it didn't stick in Vanguard, and it seems he hasn't learned much since then because he shows up without so much as a design doc (I don't care what he says, it doesn't exist), he's done nothing concrete to show us, the potential investor, why we should give him nearly a million dollars. There isn't even a fucking zone even started. No art done, no characters drawn, not even a dumb zone with a river running through it with some mountain in the background. Nothing. Theres no business plan, no lore, no organizational structure whatsoever. Theres no plan. Its just random devs frantically racing around to various web sites, they talk for a few, then bail.I'm with Quaid on this.
I cheerleaded this shit last week posting on other sites and trying to drum up support. I gave them a pass on the stumble out the gate. The repeated mistakes made me not only pull my pledge but want to go to those same sites and say sorry I sold you all on this as a heads up.
Maybe they could pull something out of their ass and go into a mode that makes me believe in them again these next few weeks, but that's not something I think will happen.
Hope I am wrong.
Yeah, I am backed at 45 dollar tier right now but am on the verge of pulling out. I want the game to be made but I think it is detrimental to the game for this kickstarter to succeed at this point. I would much rather Brad pull the plug on this and come back at a later time where he will have much more support and raise more money with a greater likelihood to succeed. I would almost certainly even back at a higher level than I am right now if he came back with a good plan and a good campaign.I think at this point funding it will send the wrong message. I've seen very good ideas thrown around but this KS is fail on an epic level. I will continue to support him, or his idea but not financially until he admits he fucked up, pulls this crappy kickstarter down, gets his shit together and comes back strong with an actual business model.
They would run anything for clicks.Maybe PC gamer looked at the content of their article and said this is a piece of shit just like the kickstarter campaign and decided not to run with it.
This is true. There are plenty of guys on here with good ideas who've been busting their asses promoting this game. They could have got Lithose, Troy, and Dakoht in a (chat) room and started running things by them first. It is the era of social media. It's not wise to lockout your fanbase from the decision making process anymore.I think the DK class reveal is shining a big old spotlight on how little thought and preparation has actually gone into both the kickstarter, and Pantheon itself.
while I agree with most of the rest of your post, understand that you areNOTan investor. You are a donor. You are putting your money in someone's hat, in hopes that it will help them to achieve their goals....he's done nothing concrete to show us, the potential investor...
Well for me it's just because I'm an MMORPG enthusiast, and $45 for the box, alpha, and a month sub is a good price. I'm gonna buy this game no matter what whether it's now or in 3 years, so I might as well now to save myself a few bucks.By the way I see a lot of downgrading pledges. What is the point of that? Either pull out or stay at your current pledge. Just lowering it doesn't really do anything.
In the era of social media, you need a pro tohandleyour customer base while you, the professional game designer, do your thing. This is true. You're the second person to trot out that dumbass argument. Kickstarters are not donors, they are at the very least customers.while I agree with most of the rest of your post, understand that you areNOTan investor. You are a donor. You are putting your money in someone's hat, in hopes that it will help them to achieve their goals.
While we are ALL disappointed at the direction this has gone, it seems that many people are discussing their contributions as if theyWEREinvestors, when that is just simply not the case.
