Yep.

There were two of them (Terrezas's) if I remember correct. Been a long ass time. One went by the name of Ozzmar on the Quellious server and was a GM (Again, long time ago. If this isn't the same one then it's been so long I forgot, but the name rings a bell) I guided there for a time and we had the most fun ever. Especially when he made me a 50 foot cockatrice and I went rampaging through The Overthere. He named me "Big Bird"
Terrezas is the worst producer vg or eq have had. Clueless.

I see on the KS page people bitching about "the troll" and how they should be baned or roasted in fire, but it doesnt matter. If the KS was succesfull you couldnt troll, it would be impossible, the pledge ticker would be moving every few minutes. Its just something to pin blame on instead of VR.

Wait Ut , I might have misunderstood and thought you were referring to my post talking about the dude on the KS forums trashing RR. I just looked up Thom T from SOE and he's definitely not who I'm talking about as this guy has his pic up over there , my bad , you must have been talking about someone else's post.

The class list is the best concrete thing about this kickstarter. They trimmed all the fat, and stuck with the classes that are really important. The functions of the others (war, Mage, nec, dru, bard, monk, ranger) can be rolled into the 7 they have planned quite easily. Will make for streamlined development, easy balancing, and strong class identities.

I'm very happy with the class list. Assuming all the class roles/abilities are at least similar to EQ, of course.
Which is funny because that was one of the things people didn't want to see happen. Classes that can fill multiple roles. Old school is tanks tank, healers heal, dps kills shit. When those lines get blurred you get WoW. Which I don't think is a bad thing, but seems to go against what this game was suppose to be about.

They're alteast strectch goals though, so that means they have plans to squeeze them in at some point. But the Necro, Mage and Warrior aren't even on the table...
What are you talking about? They are in the list as plain as day:

1. Cleric
2. Dark Knight
3. Crusader 1/24/14
4. Rogue 1/31/14
5. Enchanter 2/4/14
6. Wizard 2/7/14
7. Shaman 2/11/1
8. Pet Wizard 2/12/14
9. Dark Pet Wizard 2/14/14
10. Captain Terminus 2/17/14

Exactly, Brad has said that he would be looking to EQ and VG when it came to the class design. As of now hes covered all the classes EQ had at launch except the Necro, Mage and Warrior. I would feel less worried if those 3 classes were added to the list of stretch goals with the Monk, Bard, etc. but as it stands, theres no plans for them at all...

Well, yeah, no shit. It's still hilarious in a very annoying way.

They haven't released shit for info that is even in remotely interesting. Hooray at listing a few classes that would be in any generic rpg game. No one gives 2 fucks about "lore" in a generic fantasy setting. People want to know what they can look forward to by playing the game. It is clear as day that Brad and company have pissed away a great opportunity and went into this kickstarter with nothing more than half-ass napkin art.

He should be embarrassed and ashamed of himself for putting out this half assed attempt at a kickstarter campaign with nothing tangible to show or talk about.

I'd wipe the Kickstarter for a couple months, come back fully ready to go and launch then. No way it's gonna hit $800,000.

It always seemed like a lot of people cared about the lore in EQ. I certainly did (until Luclin). And which God you chose to follow actually had an effect on your interaction with the world. People stopped caring when you didn't even want to read quest text anymore because there was so much of it and most was useless fluff (WoW). Everyone started skimming or skipping that shit entirely just to get to the next quest reward. If I think the lore surrounding the current state of your world and that world's history are boring I'll probably skip the game entirely and go play a genre where that shit literally doesn't matter, like MOBAs and ARPGs.

I don't understand when people say they want an engaging, living, immersive world and then follow up with "who gives a fuck about lore". Really?

Go through the list of classes excluded. What were their 'roles' in EQ?

Warrior: highest defensive ability tank. Easily rolled into one of the 2 knight classes in Pantheon.
Mage: pets, dmg shields, summoned stuff, COTH. Again, easily rolled into wiz.
Necro: lifesteal magic, summon corpse, pets, mana battery. Enchanter & Dark Knight can split all these abilities.
Druid: snare... Grats Shaman
Bard: Jack of all trades buffer, limited CC. Can spread bard abilities between several classes to enrich them.
Monk: FD splitting. Won't be in game so it's moot.
Ranger: taking death touches, ranged combat. Just give rogues bow skills.

If I were to suggest one additional class added to Pantheon's list of 7, it'd be a ranged focused Ranger with a pet and snare. The rest of the axed classes are almost totally not needed.

Since half the board (a lot of them in this thread) went bat shit crazy when they found out EQ Next wasn't reusing EQ lore I'd say plenty of people care about it.

Lore is important but its like bling(can I still say that word?). You have to have a car before you put racing stripes on it.

You're on crack. And homogenization goes against pretty much what people, who want this type of game, seem to want.

Can we please not just be happy with copy/pasting classes from EQ and instead ask them to design better classes that are unique and fun to play? You guys would legitimately be happy with copy pasted classes from a 15 year old game? Wanting certain mechanics to make a comeback I understand and tying them in with newer ones is great. Creating classes based on their roles and copying their skills from a 15 year old game is lazy and boring.
