This seems revisionist to me. Vanguard was a train wreck at release and six more months would not have made that much of a difference. Also, according to reports wasn't Vanguard released despite Brad being mostly MIA? At least with Garriott's Tabula Rasa game he was there peddling away to the last moment, even though his game was utter crap, until NCSoft tossed him out.i agree. VG was as close to a good MMO as i have played since EQ. if that game would have had 6 more months, and if microsoft didn't back out, it would have been solid. the concept was there, just lacked execution.
I want Brad to have the passion he had in EQ and to create a visionary AD&D-like dangerous world and to be the guy he was in 1997. The problem I have is unlike Chris Roberts who knows exactly what he wants, I'm not sure Brad is even drinking his own Cool Aid.
