The simple fact is that they need something to show besides just ideas. Everyone has ideas, they're a dime a dozen. But we need to see a solid concept of an actual pre-alpha. Actual game play footage and how things will actually work.

Basically, we need to see that something is actually being made. Hell, I think Shroud of the Avatar even had some of the game actually made to show. Project Gorgon also had some stuff to show (even though it didn't meet it's goal). This game currently has nothing.

I can literally play Project Gorgon right now. Can't do that with Pantheon.

Now that they are collecting money directly through the site, they are on a timer now to produce something tangible. I can see the natives getting restless, even the hardcore fanboys if time goes by and their 100-200k isn't showing anything resembling a 'game'.

In two months they have produced exactly SQUAT. No wonder Vanguard shit the bed. They can't even show us a single zone with a player running through yet. I'm not even talking mobs or quest NPC's. I'm just talking a zone with a few building and the PC running through it. They have had TWO FRIKKIN MONTHS and have nothing to show for it. Seems all the focus is on the website and they will spend the next month trying to get peoples money and steamline the cash shop. Its disgusting.

To put this a different way, I'm a musician (as a hobby). I do however know how much it cost to record and produce an album (Still have friends that have worked in the industry). That takes money. But that doesn't mean I can't be sitting at home writing music for it. Christ I could have at least a dozen songs recorded using the software that is on my computer. I have everything i need here to write and record music, just not professionally. It feels like no one is willing to do a fucking thing until they get paid because you can't tell me they are completely incapable of starting to create a zone unless they get paid.

This is factually incorrect. They've had6 monthsto produce something, if you go by the notion that this whole thing started in September of last year. Remember that the KS was postponed because they wanted to put something more tangible (lol) out there.

Haha this is true. I used my super secret "auto-Brad-bullshit-detector" (Edit: They only give these out to the "trolls" from Rerolled) to automatically filter out the "We've been working on this for six months" statement. After the first three days of the kickstarter is became apparent he had donenothingprior to launching the kickstarter. NOTHING. And it doesn't appear as if they have done much since either.

So at what point do people realize that this whole thing is pretty much a con/scam? It seems pretty clear, but apparently the rose colored glasses still prevent true sight. With all the effort going into the website and not the product, there just has to be a point where the line is drawn and people start talking up the very real possibility that this whole thing might have been a con.

I'm with mkopec on this. Their site even says Brad is in FULL ON development mode and that last video by Nuthugger 101 mentioned they had a FULL ON business meeting with snacks! I don't know what you haters are spouting about but this is huge! Brad has never let us down and his FULL ON concepts and last 6 months of work shows me he is FULL ON serious. I applaud the paint skills of TragedyAnn and love the large amount of laughs this thread gives me. At this point I think it's just a scam. Given the stage they are at, 3 people would already be overkill.
22 years ago I wrote on paper with a friend a pen & paper RPG system that we played for a decade, it took months and we did it between classes at the engineering university. We wrote so much and designed so much because we worked on it with an energy and a passion that today I don't even know where to find it (we copied shit left and right, it's not that we reinvented the wheel, but it was really fun).

Some of these guys have been working on this game for a while and they have... nothing to show for it?
Brad McQuaid, aren't you even a bit ashamed? EQ was made despite your presence, Vanguard despite your absence, Pantheon won't ever see the light.

Save your money people, accept that you won't be playing EQ again and move on. The man is a scam, the others are clinging to a hope that is not even there and I think they would blink away in a heartbeat if they could find a job.

No. They implied and let people think they had a 'full team' and more people ready to get on board and have been working full time for 6 months pro bono. And good point/question, because now we know they were misleading us and flat out didn't have a full team. Had they actually admitted they only had 3 people doing work, and a community manager, and not one of those people was an actual artist, I don't think the KS campaign would have gone even as well as it didn't.

But, yeah, they didn't say the number of devs. They were instead very vague and misleading. Then again, they're mmorpg experts, not being honest with their own backer experts.

The most hilarious outcome requires them to complete the game imo. If they fail to release anything and only manage to steal a few hundred thousand dollars I'll be disappointed. The lolz that will come from that will be great, but short lived I think. The real entertainment comes from them raping the wallets of their devoted for years. Then releasing total fucking garbage. That outcome will bring a smile to my face for years to come!

I want the fanboys to keep running here acting smug after every update. This is a long game with a potentially amazing finale.

It won't matter with this particular brand of crazy. Anybody with a brain recognizes Vanguard as a horrible abortion, yet it doesn't prevent these very same people from lavishing praise upon it. "Man, if only it wasn't a bug-ridden, incomplete mess, it totally would've been awesome guys! The underlying systems were sooooo good! The potential was there!". The best outcome is Brad continuing to fleece these people for a few hundred thousand every year. I'm genuinely curious how long he can ride the train of crazy.
