You cancelled a $10k pledge. They are telling you that you are on notice.

There should be no problem if you actually aren't pledging and cancelling multiple times.

They didn't do that when I pulled it ...... they did it after some bitch said somebody was trolling THREE times, which was NOT me...... the people at Kickstarter have logs for the Kickstarter servers ..... they can see that .... they should not be admonishing people that aren't guilty of said "crime" which is just feeding said fanboy ......

There is no problem. They could have banned my account and then what? I would have to sign up for a new kickstarter account.

While I have considered maybe the demand is not as strong as I had assumed for a game like this, I also do not think the lack of success the kickstarter is having is a true gauge of the interest.

39,000 people have at one point signed up for the P99 forums/game, which leads me to believe that Brad is just not reaching enough people who may have interest in the game. The EQ progression servers are always a huge hit and imagine if people knew Brad was going to make aNEWgame. I think its a communication problem more than a lack of interest.
I agree that there's probably more interest in the idea of this game, but the issue of not reaching everyone is secondary. I bet 9/10 look at the kickstarter, go "heh, no way" and close it again. Presentation/info is their primary issue, then next on the list as secondary is reaching out to all that might be interested. The bad thing is they probably lost alot of people that looked at the kickstarter during week 1 and wont go back there.

The complaint may have been the trigger, but it's not what they warned you about.

Regardless, we all know you had zero intention of spending $10,000 on this project. Just come off it. Your claims about bait and switch and betrayalton are a bunch of unfounded nonsense, too.

And yes, they could ban your account. You could create a new one, but I believe you'd have to use the same name at least during the payment phase. Kickstarter is probably more interested in money than keeping people banned, so I doubt they'd do anything, but I'm sure they could keep you off the site if they wanted to.

Yeah you don't know me very well and obviously don't read these forums, at all. I don't have an issue dumping $10k into something I am interested in. I dumped $15k into bitcoin miners that never got to me and they finally refunded me. Money I had already written off as something I had lit on fire. I was going to day trade bitcoins with it possibly like I said in another thread here. Then this kickstarter came along. If I was going to "invest" in something intangible why not invest in something fun, like an EQ successor?

Who IS going to donate $10k if not somebody on a gaming forum just like this one? Who is worthy of donating that money according to you?

Kickstarter should not be in the business of holding your hand over the fire once you've made a pledge. It's one thing to try to take care of any pledge trolls but totally another to tell someone that once they donate if they change their mind they're breaking some sort of solemn vow. If they cared so much why would they give donaters the ability to edit their donations in the first place?

You're right, I don't know you very well, and while I did speak definitively, I suppose I can't be 100% sure that you had no intention of donating $10k. One thing I will say, though, is that from seeing your behavior and posts here in this thread, I have a hard time believing that you even have $10,000 that you can afford to just throw away. Again, I may be wrong, but I'm more inclined to believe that you are just full of shit.

Bets on whether a_skeleton_03 is gearing up for a campaign to get the Kickstarter pulled from the website? And whether that wouldn't be the best thing for the project at this point?

You took your bitcoin money and donated and undonated 10k in a couple of days? What made you change your mind that many times so quickly?

Hard to believe you're just really indecisive, seems more like you're just a liar and wanted some attention. Nah, couldn't be that...

Again, I may be wrong, but I'm more inclined to believe that you are just full of shit.
And an attention-whore. You don't need to hang around here too long to figure that out.

They took no action, nor did they try to coerce him into donating at $10k. Someone was trolling the $10k pledge. We know a_skeleton_03 cancelled it at least once, but he claims he did not do so multiple times.

Kickstarter simply told him that they will be watching his actions. He has nothing to worry about if he doesn't actually pledge and cancel at high amounts multiple times.

Don't feel a bit bad for ya, a_skeleton_03. You wanted to make a big show by leaving the kickstarter, and so you got one. Kickstarter was right to warn you about it. And people were right to be pissed.
