Changed my second diaper ever this past week and nailed it, even the part about folding the front down. Incidentally, I never imagined a 20 month old could pinch such a mighty loaf but there it was. Adjusted for a toddler scale, that sumbitch was probably 3-4 Courics.
You don't need to fold the front down unless it's a newborn with a belly button thats not healed. Just FYI.

If the diapers are a little big the fold can help form a better seal for the lava shit explosion they are brewing in their nasty guts.

If your kid has shit coming out the front, thats an interesting issue.

She told me earlier to fold the front down so I folded the front down. Kinda funny that I've never changed the diaper on one of my nieces but I've changed both of my friend's kids once each. Older one is out of diapers and the younger one and I don't really get along enough for diaper changing so it's likely to stay that way.

Bubba had a diaper yesterday that blew out the leg again. And he had a onsie with long legs on so it smeared all the way down his leg and the pant legs. It was so fucking disgusting.
This kid shits so forcefully sometimes it blasts out like if you stepped on a ketchup packet. And he's definitely had several back blow outs. Including one that got on my shirt that I didn't notice until after I was done changing him. Now that he's started solid foods (avocado and sweet potatoes so far) his shit is starting to turn into spackle compound. I have to practically scrape with my finger nails to clean it off.
Good thing nasty shit doesn't gross me out. I love seeing videos of first time dads vomiting over cleaning a shitty diaper. Goddamn babies! haha

I do not miss diapers. Before I got snipped that was the keyword which kept the baby factory on hold until we decided two was enough.

Speaking of being snipped. I'm certain down the road I'll be going that route also. What's the discomfort level on that procedure? Or do I not want to know? lol

My local anesthesia wore off during the procedure while he was in the middle of it. Wasn't that bad actually.

I got home and stood up too fast and immediately had to lie down for 30 minutes from almost fainting, didn't feel it just my body said to go down right then. I sat around for a couple days and then was back to normal.

I think it varies per person. Some people talk about feeling "blue balls" a lot but I've never experienced it. It's probably a safer overall procedure than having your woman's tubes tied or pumping hormones into her until menopause.

Interesting.
Our family is complete now with two kids, so I've been thinking about getting snipped too. The wife is on the pill (a version you can use when still breastfeeding) and has been thinking about an IUD. Works for me I guess, but you have to replace those every few years.
Pill somewhat doesn't work for me because she forgets them every other week and then we're on rubber for seven days.

So they put my kid on ritalin yesterday. She took it yesterday afternoon and this morning. My wife said she saw a difference, I think that's wishful thinking. Today there was a meeting with her school to discuss the IEP and everything going forward. They took my daughter in the other room and set her up with some activities, and they did the meeting. They said it would take 30 days for the IEP and my wife was understandably concerned. Our daughter hasn't been to school in 3 weeks so another month will just be awful for her. The assistant principal said "well it is your choice to keep her home" not acknowledging the elephant in the room, that the moment she comes back she's going to have a blowup and probably get sent home. At that point she walked out of the room, then came back in and asked everyone to come and look at my daughter. She had, in the hour the meeting took, had another fucking blowout. The people who hadn't been present for them in the past were apparently not totally on board, they didn't believe the extent of her problems. So at this point, they resume the meeting without my wife, which she is thinking "oh fuck...". Then they come out and say the IEP will be done in a week. Thank empty feeling I have instead of a god.

Well I am not sure about this medication but they said it may take time. Her new psychiatrist doesn't think she has depression. Thisis what pisses me off, I specifically was worried about doctors using their opinions instead of quantifiable tests. The psychologist assured me they use standardized, quantified tests to measure this. They don't use feelsdata. And still, everyone disagrees on what is going on. This psychiatrist she saw was at our normal pediatric practice and specializes in ADHD, she is still scheduled to see another psychiatrist on the 20th so we will see.

This is probably a really stupid question. I know depression is caused by a myriad of things, but can 5 year olds actually have depression?

Yes, it isn't like "she's sad" it is clinical depression, brain chemical imbalance. Or maybe not, idk, I just want these fucking people to agree. But if you read about depression in young children, how she acts out is exactly how they describe depressed kids acting out.
