maybe. My daughter had a lot of issues pooping when she was under a year, i.e. once or twice a week, so when she did poop they were almost guaranteed to be blowouts. She never got poop inside her vagina.

I also don't want to derail this but I do not understand parents who DON'T change their kids diapers. I mean... you're a parent. But whatever, to each their own.

I wouldn't mind changing their diapers whatsoever. But try having a chinese wife, and a traditional chinese mother. They practically push me out of the way during those moments. It's a culture thing.

Okay that makes more sense. I thought you were like... I am man, I do not change diaper, that is woman job.

I don't like giving my baby baths. I wish I could just bring him into the shower with me and get a 2for1.

My kid loves bath time but I don't really like it either. Plus ever bath ever, every single goddamn one, he pisses straight into the air upon touching water.

Having a pretty awesome Dad Day. Took my 4 year old to lunch just the two of us. For dinner it was just me and my 6 year old. So fun to have some one on one time. Seems like we always do stuff as a family unit of 4, which is awesome too. The dynamic is just different and fun one on one.

My best friend is 35 and they just had their first kid. She is 4 days old and they have been trying to keep her awake as much as they can during the day so that she sleeps fully through the night ....

What is wrong with people? If your kid sleeps through the night in the first month or even probably the first 6 months it is a bad bad thing. That baby is dying. They need to wake up every 2 hours or so.

My wife set the mom straight.

She is breastfeeding also and didn't realize that the baby should be sucking on those things every few hours or she won't start producing enough milk.

Our doctor told us that we should wake our kid up every 2-3 hours too feed him. We would set alarms to get up during the night

The problem is there's so much new age hipster bullshit parenting techniques. 5 years ago if you told me people would be walking toddlers around not wearing diapers and then running full speed with them to the toilet I'd laugh it off. But people do that shit.

In our first few days we slept when our kid slept, whatever part of the goddamn day that was.

The no diaper thing works.....used it on my kids ages ago, so that isn't anything new- the one caveat i have is,, only at HOME- going out = pull ups/diaper.

worked fine for us, took a few days and they got the right idea- few accidents but,..what kid doesn't have accidents when they are ~2-3 yrs old.

I'm sorry but I can't take anything you said seriously. Plus I think you write Castle fan fiction and that show is terrible

I know some parents who have problems housebreaking their kids will strategically ditch the diapers when the kids are outside playing. The kid pisses themselves? Tough nuts, enjoy discomfort you little shit.

That's supposedly why they do it - so the kid gets the sensory input of piss and shit running down their legs. Supposedly weens them faster. My inlaws suggested the same. Not really practical in an apartment in the city vs their house in the country side. Anywho, we slowly tried putting out daughter on the potty and eventually she got it. Reinforce with bribes - like getting a sticker to put in a book each time. Now she comes home from kindergarten saying we owe her this many stickers when she did potty. Had 1 accident in 3 months. Daughter is 3 this august.

EDIT:
My angle is this: children grow, and so do their GI and bladder size. No point in forcing them to hold it if they cant - several factors, neuronal, muscular, reflex etc. - organ damage / dysfunction induction vs our annoyance. But that's just me speculating.

We were successfully potty training but then stopped for some reason... daughter got sick and my wife didn't want to fight it, or she was just lazy and diapers were easier, I don't know I was working

.

We just went right to underpants and told her to tell us when she had to go. She probably pee'd herself like 3 times that first day before she got the hang of it, then it was about 50/50 chance she would tell us she had to go. Even in diapers she will still tell us she has to go potty sometimes so we are about to start her on potty training again. If she has to poop though she almost always tells us she has to use the potty... something about having a giant turd in your diaper probably not appealing at all.

My Daughter is 2 and half now but she won't have known of it. She likes the idea of sitting on the potty and will often say she needs a "wee wee" but she won't do anything. We are not really focing her either both the boys just picked it up with a bit of encouragement and bribes sure she will do the same.

The "just take the diapers/pullups away" thing worked with my oldest girl. Did not work with the other two. But when it worked, it was shocking how quickly it worked.
