It did;(

Some people do feed their kids solid food way, way too early though. And I have read something about negative effects related to that. I'll try and find a link later.
There's negative side effects to breathing.

Try not to get too worked up about it.

He's within the 75-90 percentile, looks fine. 7 lbs more at the same age would be monstrously above the 95 percentile.

He's at the 85th percentile according to our pediatrician. He's an active little bugger so I'm not going to worry about it. Figured out how to roll over a few weeks ago, so he does that non-stop. Now he's on the verge of learning to crawl. Man I really need to go get some child/doggy gates sooner rather than later.

I can see you're going to be just as boneheaded about this as you are about a lot of other things lately.

Carry on then.

I don't know what you're talking about. The AAP has decades of data, I'm not "worked up about it" it is just a thing that not everyone is aware of.

Everyone on this board is so fucking salty lately.

I have honestly never met somebody who feeds their kid solid(ish) food before they're at least 6 months.

We were fortifying the formula with some rice cereal at like 5-6 mos, but solid food? As in shit from the dinner table? Thats fucking idiotic.

The original quote said "Cereal," dipshit. Not fucking carrots. It didn't say that they were throwing the kid a fucking ham hock, it said cereal. Cereal is a pretty vague term when it comes to babies. It can mean Cap'n fucking Crunch, or it can the Gerber rice cereal that you can thin down to basically milk consistency and would flow thru the nipple on a bottle.

Since the word "cereal" is all that was mentioned, everything that you said after is a bunch of bullshit, unfounded speculation and it's entirely possible that it has no bearing on that particular case, and you decide to go off on another one of your crusades championing a cause no one gives a shit about.

That's what you're being boneheaded about - the fact that you don't have the reading comprehension to understand that it's not a black and white issue and there are many different grades regarding the words used. Everyone on this board isn't salty, you're just way more obtuse than you have been in the past. I used to think you were pretty level when I was reading the political thread on a daily basis, but the bullshit you spew in the abortion thread, NK thread, this thread, and that Supertouch thread have changed my view of you permanently, and I no longer wish to discuss nuance with you because you think a machete is the right tool for every job apparently.

So this could have all been avoided if you asked me if it was Captain Crunch of Gerber Rice cereal thinned down? Or if you would have asked chaos to clarify himself regarding the solid state of said cereal?

It was gerber rice cereal thinned down you fucking maniac. Take it down a notch pal. This is not the Dogs thread and I don't see Tenks posting here.

nice diatribe though.

So much popcorn munching, so little time.

My little girl started daycare Wednesday, the mommy has been very edgy and very eager to pick her up. Let's hope they can both get used to the new routine without too much crying and overly milking tits. Well, 1 of 2 at least.

Well, the AAP considers infant cereal solid food and recommends not introducing until 6 months. And they have a whole list of effects that early introduction of solids is known to cause. I never thought I would see the day that linking a peer reviewed study from a trusted source would be controversial. I'm telling you, salty ass motherfuckers around here.

My first child, a baby boy, is just over 2 weeks old, and rocking! Been pretty crazy getting used to a schedule. I've had it easy the last 2 weeks, as my wife did all the feedings (breat feeding of course), but she just started pumping so now it's my turn to do it!

Edit: You know they say that dad's get mad or frustrated when they can't soothe a baby or stop them from crying. At least some dad's. I completely understand it. They won't shut up and 2 seconds in mom's arms and they fall asleep.

But, even more frustrating to me, as I know I can soothe my child. No, not nearly as fast as mom or even grandma but I'm learning. And instinctively maybe I'll never be as fast, but when you don't give a man a chance, and within minutes of crying a woman comes flying up all trying to be like it's all good I'll do it, how is a brother supposed to learn? Shit.

My damn Jimmies are rustled.

You need to respectfully inform the mom and grandma that they are not being fair to you, and they are not allowing you to form an early bond of trust with your baby by taking him from you before you have calmed him.

Bah, that shit fades over time. Soon they will be throwing you the kid and not giving 2 fucks. Its easy to understand. New mom, new kid, its all fragile and shit at first.

Was the opposite with me, all three of my kids (much to the resentment of both my first and second wife) would only calm down when I was holding them. My youngest has gone so far as to only allow me to be the one to put him to bed for naps or at night. I have a very tight bond with all of my kids but I really wish my son would let my wife put him to bed. It kills my game nights when I have to be back by 9pm in order to put him to sleep.

Ya, there's only been one night that I was the one trying to calm the baby and the above situation happened. For the most part, our baby boy has been great! At a little over 2 weeks old, he'll have one stretch at night that he sleeps 4-5 hours, then the rest goes back to every 3'ish hours for feedings. He's pretty calm most of the time. Love him!
